G-POWER is pushing relentlessly towards becoming a serious contender as a force of nature comparable to the sun. After recording a speed of 365.7 km/h (228.4 mph), the 750hp / 559kW G-POWER M5 HURRICANE RS is officially the "fastest sedan in the world, taking the record from the bi-turbo V12 BRABUS Rocket. That car is based on the Mercedes-Benz CLS and does 362.4km/h.
G-POWER modified the M5 HURRICANE RS through enlarged capacity twin superchargers supplied by ASA. Boost level went from 0.7 bar to 0.8 bar. What's scarier is that G-POWER says they can raise this up to 1.0 bar for even more performance. "We can still improve," says CEO and engineer Christian Stöber, "if we see the need for it."

228.4mph is the "world record" for a sedan? I guess it has to be completely street legal? I don't know... still sounds a bit slow to me. I would have thought the fastest sedan in the world be in the 230-240mph range with the power they're able to make these days.

So they have room to turn up the wick... I'd like to see it do 235mph.

I would guess that that record would be "street Legal" and "as delivered to the customer". I'm sure that you can make a sedan that will go faster than that, but it would be a one off car.

I'm sure the S65 AMG could beat it with a bit of upgrades..

They got the SL65 AMG to 900HP I think.

sl65 is not a sedan

^ You're right, the sl65 is not a sedan but it shares the same engine as the s65. I think that's what he was meaning to say.
