Friends & I Went To The Dyno Today (911 TT & Elise)

We went to the dyno today. Over at LA Performance Division in Chatsworth. The 2 cars were 2002 Porsche Turbo with the X50 package. He has intake, Remus exhaust, upgraded wastegates & ECU upgrade ran First run was 502 RWHP, then 516 RWHP best, & 508 RWHP on a dynojet. Got to love a factory turboed car. They usually have 3 fans, but one was busted so they weren't able to blow into the engine bay.

My other friend ran about 167 RWHP on his stock Elise.

We are heading up to Palmdale next week. Hopefully I'll have my 8 out of the shop by then.

I agree with you about the Elise. Interesting car, but interior is very basic.

Car has a defective actuator spring. Greddy is being crappy about customer service. Greddy has been very disappointing with their product & their customer service.

was the porsche agreeing with the dyno, or was it giving you problems? (heard it was a tough vehicle to dyno)

Friends has had the AWD linkage disconnected, so it is RWD right now, so it was easy to dyno. Problems comes with AWD system.

So whats new
Tell me about it. After I am through I am going to write a post on the problems I have had with Greddy. It is almost all fixed up now, but not after about a half dozen issues.

Greddy sucks. I will never buy another greddy product. I think we should start a post on here discussing all of the problems members have had with Greddy products and then email them a link. Last time I talked to them, they claimed they weren't even aware that there turbo's were popping left and right.

Outside of the turbo kit, I have pulled the BOV, and the boost controller, and now replaced it with HKS stuff. Way better, and the customer service is 10X better. I'm done with Greddy for the future. Never getting another product of theirs again.

greddy = inferior engineering. there usually much better FI kits for any given car than greddy. too bad rx8's choices are pretty limited.

I think this kit was even worse than their other kits. In general Greddy is a decent low cost turbo kit for cars, but this one was straight bad. They really rushed it out to the market. It wasn't like this was even a good, low power kit. The way they rushed it market, and basically made us first adopters fix their crap. not to mention I would figure they knew they rushed to market, and would at least be receptive to us for figuring out their garbage & fixing it, but instead they stone wall at every turn.

I totally agree with yall on these issues. Yea, I'm having a blast now driving it, but I had the shop do MazdaManics fixes b/c Greddy was to shitheaded to do before marketing the product. When I spoke to their customer service people a while back, they seem like they're doing the customers favors every time u talk with them, and they are not reliable either. A guy there was supposed to call me back about an R flash fix and I never heard from him again. Then I heard from sum1 else who tried to fix said he loaded it and it did absolutley nothing! I feel like the people on this forum like Mazdamaniac and Maddog should be getting the profits from the kit as they have made it work, at least for me.
