ford tried, it was called the Contour

it was too small for US market as a 'mid-size' sedan

now they have the Fusion on sale, doubt this new Mondeo will ever come here....

 

Maybe, if the Contour was a little bigger but I am not really liking the design we have here. The last car I truly loved from Ford in the US, was the SVT Contour. Great car. IMO they can dump the Fusion and 500 and bring this baby over with a Falcon.

WOw...that 4 door looks NICE!!!! Why don't they bring it here???? If it's too small, make it a bit bigger...gosh Ford, leave America with the ugly generic looking cars while everyone else get's what we should get here.

Gosh...if they stuck their V8 in that thing and made it RWD they would sell half a mil....

smack me too because that roof line does look like the rx-8 to me and the fenders/wheel arches - well search my past posts on the reality of that. designers move a round you know

 

I truly am stunned that ford intends to produce a car like that. Looks really good.

 

I agree. I like it alot. Put some v8 power in it and RWD and you have yourself a serious danger to the charger and 300c. I love it and some of those styling cues mention above didnt help to win me over i promise

the currnet sport mondeo is alot of fun! the police seem to beef them up to about 300bhp so not many peolpe try and run with one of those bearing down!

Ditto all the sentiments here. The Fusion isn't so bad looking (well the interior and especially steering wheel are), but no MT on the V6 model?! Stupid Ford... But this car... based on the Iosis styling... this is sexy. Like some have said... RWD or even AWD (FWD base model) with some muscle under the hood... V8 from the Mustang GT, MZR engine from the Mazdaspeed 6 or worst case... V6 from the Mazda6/Fusion or V6 from the Mustang... be ABSOLUTELY sure to offer a manual transmission and I'd be sold.

Zoom, it's Ford. They have to find some way to severly limit their sales numbers.
