Finally Sold My 3000GT

So... it was a very painful day selling it, I loved that thing with all my heart. I've been very sad ever since :(. Sucks even more that I sold it at least $2Gs below what it's worth.

I love this forum, and here is why; everyone is so nice, respectful and HELPFUL. I joined the 3s site and it's all a-holes for the most part, one guy is telling me that I don't deserve my 3s or to be on the site because I'm not madly in love with it (which I am) and was selling it. I think I might find out where he lives ;).

Anyways, my 8 is doing great! Almost ready for it's first oil change. I haven't had a chance to do anything new to it since Alucard's install meet last month... hopefully soon though!

Here is the last pic taken of my 8 (I wanna do a mini-shoot this weekend to get some awesome ones) and the last pics taken of my 3s :(.

Sorry to hear you lost a loved one Kelli :icon_no2:

But look on the bright side - you're closing one chapter, just to open up a new one

p.s. - we here at the forums think you're pretty cool too.......now...............about those photo's w/the 8 :naughty: lol

i almost bought a VR4 instead of RX8 :)

CTrx8 03-23-2009 11:47 AM

not too bad considering it was salvage. i know it didn't seem like it but now you don't have that worry hanging over your head.

Pics this weekend... as long as it doesn't rain! Then I'll post them on the 3s site and tell that guy to diiiiieeeeeeee. Ahhhh.. So angry and I only need one person to take it out on, LOL.

Aren't those rear aero flares? I'm waiting to buy Alucard's bumper whatchamacallits to complete it... haha.

Kelli,

I know how much that car meant to you, sorry to hear it's gone but now you have another new love in your life! The 8 truly is a great car and I think some day you'll love it as much as you did your 3.
Glad to hear you're enjoying your time here on the 8 club, this is a fun place full of interesting people, knowledgable gear heads, and the ocassional shenanigans (looks at Atilla)

dozer 03-23-2009 12:03 PM

im pretty sure youll get over it quicker than you think

Kelli_Kitten 03-23-2009 12:20 PM

I am happy with my choice :). I'm surrre next meet I'll feel right at home and forget all about my 3000.

Atilla, where are your sexy pics with your 8? HMMMMMMMM... I want school girl socks.

CTrx8 03-23-2009 12:24 PM

the rear aero flares go just behind your rear wheel. it just helps the flow of the lines look consistant rather than just dropping out when you get to the rear. i still have to do something about mine too. :)

lakesnurfer023 03-23-2009 12:25 PM

the '98 3000's were awesome...

i feel your hurt... *pat *pat

on the flip side.. the calipers on your 8 are sexy

Oh yeah? I'll do school girl socks if you do school girls socks ;)

Though i'm almost 900% sure the forum will probably appreciate your pic's more than mine

Thanks! We painted them on the car... I even accidentally painted my fender :D.

Atilla 03-23-2009 01:38 PM

^

the question: "HOW THE HELL DID THAT HAPPEN?" comes to mind lol...

Kelli_Kitten 03-23-2009 02:18 PM

It was cold and my brain turned off and stopped thinking... did weird things on it's own, hahaha.

Their pics somewhere around here... the paint came off at least :)

lakesnurfer023 03-24-2009 10:04 AM

What paint did you use?

My buddy had an orange and slightly red 350z for about half a year from a caliper related incident.

But clearly, that wasn't his first mistake...

Atilla 03-24-2009 10:07 AM

soooooooooooooo.....about those pictures..........:squint:

lol - jk, so what are you gonna buy with the extra cash :D:

lepichichi 03-24-2009 10:12 AM

why was it salvaged??? i'm just being curious :)

Atilla 03-24-2009 10:15 AM

^you just opened up a long story bro...:scared: lol

Rotr8 03-24-2009 10:15 AM

Make sure to come out to the Next Sushi Night Kelli, it'll be in Philly and if you still want it I can bring my OEM wing,,,

Kelli_Kitten 03-24-2009 12:54 PM

I forget what kind of paint it was... it was Mike's... but we were able to get it off, right after everyone took pics :).

I have no idea why it was salvaged - I unfortunately learned that it was after I put it on eBay and they told me that I couldn't list it as "Clear." It was clear but the last electronic history on the car is from 2002 way before I owned it.

When is it? I'll definitely come out if it's in Philly :)... I'll check it out. Whattya think, should I go for the OEM wing? I miss having one :(.

RIWWP 03-24-2009 12:59 PM

For the price, go with a MS wing...but that's my opinion. :)

Either one will interfere with the 'normal' position of your auto-dimming mirror, since incoming light from most cars behind you will put the shadow of your spoiler right over the light sensor on the mirror, and it won't dim. Most of us flip our mirrors upside down to bypass this.

A few get different wings :)

I know you are talking about me Worms lol! My wing is high enough up it doesn't interfere with the mirror at all. :)

Kelli_Kitten 03-24-2009 01:14 PM

Flipping my mirror, eh? That's a new one!

It sucks, I got practically nothing for my GT - what all I did get went towards my loan :(.

I think eventually I do want a spoiler, I just can't decide right now..
