yep mazda did not invented the suicide doors but witch late-model car has them (ok ok saturn doesnt count)
i love my 8 and i enjoy driving it everytime but honestly this car does not look lilke my 8 thats for sure and it sure does not look as sexy as my 8 either. lol.

Well, this is a concept, which means virtually nothing. Sure there's in influence here, but why the hell should anyone care, or use that as way to bash Nissan. That is just utterly pathetic. If anything you should be flattered, and give Nissan credit for having enough admiration and respect for the RX8 to make this concept. Hell, all car companies do it. Welcome to last century. I don't imagine this will ever see production, but this is just good business for Nissan, as it is for any car company. Personally I think a non rotary car that looks like the RX8 would fly off the showroom floors. Nissan should flat out mimick the car and slap their 3.5 liter in it. That will really have RX8 fans flipping their tops. ;)

Doesn't look like an 8 to me, looks like a really bad version of the Z maybe.

Aside from hardly looking like an 8 at all, that car has got to be one of the ugliest things I've ever seen. It looks like an old Camry and a Saturn mated and then its offspring mated with a Ridgeline and made this car.

I agree with Mike, I see an RX-8 copy. Doesn't have to look exactly like the RX-8, but Nissan's intentions are clear. God damn Nissan, I hate them so much.

I don't like that car at all. Looks like a half assed copy of an RX-8 / Dodge Magnum. I get the Magnum feel from the squareish front end.

are we done sucking mazda's dick? That car looks nothing like the 8 if anything it looks kinda like a retro thunderbird, but one that can perform.

for gods sake cars with suicide doors are not copies of the 8, the 8 was not innovative by having suicide doors, having only 4 seats in a car isnt something that was invented for the 8, a lot of performance cars have their driveshaft there. That front grille looks nothing like the front of an 8, its reminiscent to me of an infinity M or a nissan murano...ha fancy that a nissan that looks like a nissan.

God some of you people act as if the 8 was god's gift to man and is the most unique car in the world...our car looks like a longer hard top s2000 with wheel arches...there i said it.

This thread proves that fanboys are so blinded by their loyalty that anything designed with suicide doors (ala Saturn) must be a rip off of the 8. :rolleyes:

chill. all we are saying is there is similarities and we think they got design ideas from it. Well there isnt much nowadays with suicide doors excpet the saturn but who the hell would copy a saturn(except the saturn sky that is :D )

here i'll list the similarities
they are both cars, japanese, rear wheel drive, 2+2, have suicide doors...you guys are seeing what you want to see in everything else.

I don't think that we should put our car in the same category with Nissan's concept. That car looks disgusting. Our car is innovative and spectacular and deserves all the praises it gets.

and the side vents and ceter console that runs the entire length of the interior and similarities with the placement and shape of the holes on the front facia.

every pickup truck has these doors, including Nissans.

Maybe they were thinking about burying the RX8 by coming out with a similiar thing, to compliment the Z, but then realized it would cost too much money, and would likely fail. :)) That wasn't a serious response BTW. ;)

Who really cares if it shares some similarities with the 8? Most cars today share something, because other manufacturers like it. I don't see too much of the 8 in that car, but even it it is incredibly similar to some of you guys, does it make that big of a deal? I just don't get it I guess.

Like I already said, the Nissan Maxima 4 seat version has this feature too.

lets see...almost every real 2+2 has a console that goes the entire length of the interior and holes on the front fascia, are you kidding me??? that front end is pure nissan, it looks like the maxima, altima, infinity m and g. Where does the 8 show up anywhere on the front facing part of the car...now you're reaching.

I think it looks nice, not sexy...but nice and I for one welcome all sports cars and especially 2+2's....my favorite!

If that car looks like an Rx-8, something's wrong with my car... I'm not sure what theat ugly heap of artist's rendering actually does look like, but it's not an Rx-8, unless of course, my Rx-8 doesn't actually look like an Rx-8.
