at 1:36 of the video when they begin to discuss kodo, there are images of a CX-5 drawing overlaid with the bright lines and cheetah image. Does anyone have larger versions of those images (maybe as big as Ash's last images)? I'd love to put that on the front of my Kodo shirt.

I hate to say it but 9m a bit disappointed in the mpg ...

35 hwy seems respectable but thats just for sky manual and fwd ... if its sky-auto with awd it has only 31 mpg hwy ... its still better than most other small suv but i was expecting 35 for awd version.

Price isnt bad consider the car has so much and i should have no problem getting it at 26k fully loaded. But i guess i will wait for the diesel version instead.

Does anyone know anything concrete about interior/road noise, suspension comfort and overall NVH with the CX-5?

The small to mid-sized CUV market is on fire, partly because of gas prices, and partly because a lot of women associate sitting higher up with a higher belt line with 'security' IMO.

The reason I ask is I've found pretty much all small and even mid-sized CUVs to be buzzy and having high levels of road noise (CR-V, Rogue, Equinox, Tiguan, etc.).

I also wonder how realistic the 26 city 25 highway mpg claim is for the 2WD manual.

We made a few calls to north east dealers concerning the arrival of the CX-5. We are looking to downsize from our Infiniti Q. We called the renown Wayne Mazda and they said they are expecting a shipment by the end of the month or early March. CAN'T WAIT! If they drive as good as they seem to be, then we are definitely in.

We are looking to lease a Grand Touring AWD with the navi, etc, etc. We are leasing because we plan on returning it when/if they bring the SkyActiv Diesels in a year or so.

I am thinking about trading in the 2010 mazda 3 for cx5.

But after seeing the mpg numbers. I probably just gonna wait for the diesel version first then see what happens.

Sup SNTP!!! Lol

When will u be seeing the cx5? Lemme know cuz i think im gonna bring my mazda3 in to get some warranty work done. We can check the cx5 out at the same time.

I gave Manfretti and Wayne my number and they will call me once they get their shipment. I'll definitely let you know.

I am more than content with the 26/32 mpg with the AWD sky auto. Definitely an improvement because I am getting an average of ~13mpg with the Infiniti... Needing to drive 180 miles a week blows...

it's 25/31 for AWD Auto btw ... 26/32 is for FWD ...

It will be 2 times better than your Infiniti Q for sure tho.

I drive almost 150 miles everyday in the city now ... today, 200 miles in 13 hr period ... talk about pain ... the Sonata Hybrid serves me well ...

Whoops -_-.... I should easily get a combined mpg of at least 28. I hyper-mileage whenever I can. My friend gets at least 35 mpg combined with his old Elantra taking the same route I do while hyper-miling (no crazy engine off stunts). That's considering local Brooklyn traffic for 3 miles and ~11 mi Belt Parkway chaos.

Unfortunately it doesn't make a difference on the Infiniti with 2 1/2 tons of weight, typical torque converter tranny, 91+ octane, on/off ramp handling of a ship, and aerodynamics of a brick.

Still legal in Sweden, they tried to get rid of them but the two last hars winters stopped that.

A really good winter tire without studs is for example nokian r but on icy roads there is no replacement for studded winter tires.

Like the CHEETAH!

Australia's theme will also be 'An SUV – but not as you know it'.

haha posting for the "newbs" ash i saw that the moment it hit the 'net

it's a nice cheetah. incidentally our cheetah here at the zoo moved last year for the breeding program. but we just got two new ones who are brothers. havent got over to see them yet but love them in general. cant wait to see the two brothers playing/goofing off

pic of the female who went off to become a mama

i cant fidn my image like this at the moment but if you see the front end of the truck in this pic

you'll spot some wood where the windshield would be. since then they have incorporated the glass of the exhibit with the front of the truck. sometimes the cheetahs will be standing/sitting on the hood while the kids are sitting in the from seats of the truck. very cool

CX-5 goes on-sale here next week February 28.....USA in April.

Aussie Spec.
The CX-5 will be available from next week only in 2.0-litre petrol guise – including six-speed manual and automatic front-wheel drive and auto-only all-wheel drive variants – before an auto-only AWD diesel version hits Australian showrooms in late March

All models will come standard with fuel-saving idle-stop technology, helping Mazda to claim the CX-5 will offer class-leading fuel efficiency, with the 2.2-litre SkyActiv-D turbo-diesel version returning combined average fuel consumption of a small car-like 5.7L/100km, despite coming as standard in AWD-auto form.

Mazda’s first diesel-powered compact SUV – and its first automatic diesel vehicle of any type – will not skimp on performance to achieve its outstanding economy figure, however, with a class-leading 420Nm of torque available from 2000rpm and some 129kW of power on tap at 4500rpm.

I had a trip to montreal last sept (when i first got the car )

Took a 7 hours drive with the hybrid, when i got there i used a bit more than 1/2 tank of gas, mpg was like 40 somehing 50. i had my cruise control on most of the time going 70 to 85. The roads were so straight that i had my battery charge up to full bars(it means about 80%) so many times then the system automactially use it down to 30% for maybe 2-3miles then it starts charging again

I want sky-d cx5!

Hey NYCGPS, I just got the phone call from Wayne today. They got their fresh shipment of CX-5's. Only three of them; which is surprising due to the size and reputation of Wayne Mazda.

Let me know if/when you want to come with to take a look at it.
