Alliance of Automobile Manufacturers: Alliance Response to Supreme Court decision today to dismiss challenges to EPA

DailyTech - Supreme Court Kills E15 Protest, Greenlights Lower MPG, Destroyed Engines

and when they eventually make this a "requirement", we gonna get like what, 10 mpg per gallon ? and our fuel related item will burst/break every 2 yrs from this ? *shurgs*

corn ... maybe I should start my own corn farm !

Junkman 6394226 06-24-2013 08:38 PM

FFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUUU...........

Will it be advertised which pumps have E15? As opposed to the E10 we have now?

nycgps 06-24-2013 09:53 PM

it will

but the problem is, 99% of us do NOT want this shit.

worst mpg
cost more
kills engines and related parts
raise food prices

but the biggest problem is ...

it Pollutes MORE than fossil fuel !

what the fu ... seriously .

E15 Do's and Don't's and sticker warning

E15: Frequently Asked Questions | E15 (a blend of gasoline and ethanol) | Fuels & Fuel Additives | US EPA

My pondering is, if they have stickers to warn against using this fuel in certain applications, then they should *SENSIBLY* have other pumps for motor vehicles that can't use the fuel - AKA older E10 pumps. So I'll be sticking to those :fingersx: if they're still around...

nycgps 06-25-2013 01:32 AM

You seriously think the general us public will be smart enough to be able to tell the difference?

Mazdaspeed RX8 ver2 06-25-2013 02:13 AM

I didn't say anything about the public? :dunno: But so long as there's a warning, that pump can be avoided for now.

Public/Poor us : higher food prices, more poisonous air, less mpg, higher priced gas, higher price car, easier car break downs. YAY!

bose 06-25-2013 10:05 PM

Lucky for me there are a couple local stations that add 0 ethanol.

monchie 06-26-2013 01:22 AM

What in the world...this thing sucks!

Mazdaspeed RX8 ver2 06-26-2013 01:38 AM

We're doomed... voided warranties, higher food cost, crappy gas mileage... We really need to go to the streets and protest this BS. Maybe do something along the matters of this?

nycgps 07-03-2013 05:56 AM

We should really do something like that, not just us, ALL motorist should do it. seriously, it's time to tell those faggot lobbyist and those who happily took their "donations" a big fat NO.

BigCajun 07-03-2013 06:09 AM

I own 40 acres of land in Louisiana used to farm sugar cane. I received a form a couple of yrs back to receive possible tax breaks when/if sugar cane receives bio-fuel status.
Hopefully, sugar cane can cut into the amount of corn needed for ethanol.
Brazil already has a large sugar cane bio-fuel program.

I thought Congress passed a law to stop funding the EPA as the EPA is regulating the air quality and economy and that what congress is supposed to do.

Congress has the authority to regulate air and water quality. Not some puppet behind a desk.

I use to get 42.5 plus MPG now I only get 36 MPG on my motorcycle.

That's a 15% cut in fuel milage. This makes a Gold Wing impracticle to ride as a daily drive as cars get 40MPG plus now. You have to replace tires every 10K on a motorcycle.

New Yorker 07-06-2013 07:39 AM

I remember the color of the air before the EPA. Nothing against brown, but yuck!

dynamho 07-12-2013 12:46 PM

Maybe there's hope?

I'm a liberal-ish Illinoisian and even I hate the idea of increasing ethanol use. I'm fine with replacing MTBE with ethanol because MTBE is awful stuff but the rest of this is stupid. I wish there was a way we could just press the mute button on ADM every time they bring up ethanol.

"Hang on, I got an idea. Lets BURN our food!!!"

I wish they'd take the entirety of ethanol funding and just throw it at LFTR/MSR research.

TANKERG 07-12-2013 03:09 PM

Are they still using MTBE out there? I haven't seen that since the mid 90s.

bse50 07-13-2013 01:38 AM

The only thing I find to be extremely funny is that they're pushing ethanol as a "cleaner" fuel when in fact it isn't.

guy.in.red 07-13-2013 03:56 AM

Dam. Well that sucks im down to protest this sum bs

TANKERG 07-14-2013 12:27 PM

In the U.S. (at least on the west coast) as far as I know ethanol is not shipped down the pipeline and is shipped by train (fuel being burned with emissions.) Then when it arrives at the destination a lot of the times it is loaded onto trucks to be delivered to the tank farms (more emissions and fuel being burned for a product that is supposed to cut emissions.)

Well, pure ethanol does typically combust "cleaner" than the hydrocarbon soup we call gasoline. However, it's typically billed as a "clean" (rather than "cleaner) fuel and nothing that involves combustion in the awful, non-ideal environment inside an engine is going to be clean.
