Dodge Avenger Concept at Paris

http://www.worldcarfans.com/news.cfm...ncept-at-paris

i would post a pic, but it looks just like the current charger with a face lift

moRotorMotor 09-20-2006 10:56 AM

You would have fooled me if you told me this was a Charger. :dunno: The video mentioned about taking styling ques from the Charger...Are they sure they just didn't clone it?

Gambit 09-20-2006 10:57 AM

eh

I was a big fan of the old avenger....but this is disappointing. At least the name's back.

Agreed but bing a youngin with less intrest in muscle cars and more in jdm its a waste of a design.

theCATALYST 09-20-2006 11:12 AM

I like it better then the current charger design. This is actually what the current charger should have been. The avenger should havebeen brought back with a whole new design, a younger sportier version of its old self.

alfy28 09-20-2006 11:21 AM

makes me wonder if they was just lazy or hoping to confuse ppl at the car lot to buy a charger.

word up. i cant say i dislike dodge's new design direction, but to rerelease 2 older models and have them look nearly identical?...bad call

captain mercury 09-20-2006 11:23 AM

is it just me, or do the detail shots look as if theyre using non-gloss or satin finish?

Gambit 09-20-2006 12:45 PM

anything's better than the dodge nitro

blech

Japan8 09-20-2006 01:23 PM

I agree... this is what the Charger should have been. If Chrysler puts the SRT-4 engine in this with RWD and MT... I might have to seriously look at a Chrysler product for once.

kwescott 09-20-2006 01:34 PM

concepts are usually built to draw you in....but deep down you know it won't end up looking the same way after production. In this case, I'm not drawn in, and I can imagine that this is exactly the way the car will look at production. Not too much forward thinking on this one....just a more fuel efficient version of the rest of the Dodge clan.

DaveCM203 09-20-2006 02:24 PM

To me this is a slightly redesigned Charger.

Moostafa29 09-20-2006 02:30 PM

All of their cars are starting to look the same.

murix 09-20-2006 03:07 PM

It works for BMW, why not Dodge? Choose your american brute force in any size you like. I think it is a smart move for an alternative on the mid size fwd market. I bet they sell lots of these.

kwescott 09-20-2006 03:09 PM

this is now the smallest car in their line-up, correct?...given that they replaced the neon with the "Caliber", what I think looks like a swollen PT-Cruiser/HHR

I don't think this is a concept, I believe this is a production car to replace the stratus

zoom44 09-20-2006 03:42 PM

WTF? i dont get this car. how is it different that what they have now? is it adifferent segment than the charger?

they should do more about getting this on the road

http://www.allpar.com/images/dodge/h...hornet-top.jpg

as a "world" car than yet another mid size sedan

kwescott 09-20-2006 03:47 PM

so Dodge got rid of the three smaller cars in their lineup....Neon, Stratus and Avenger and replaced them with a HHR entry level car, and this Avenger. Hmmm. Interesting.

zoom44 09-20-2006 03:52 PM

and the caliber:(

I just dont like how Dodge is implementing that frigging GRILL across ALL their cars and trucks.. christ I'm one for brand image recongition but damn its sad when if you show someone just the front grill they can't identify if the car is a car or a truck!
Well we do have the Challenger coming up soon so hehehehehehehehe they are somewhat forgiven!
