MAZDA, if you're reading this: PLEASE take a clue from your big brother Ford! ;)

this next month should be very interesting, this may lead to a revolution in American automobile pricing system... will fixed pricing finally set in as the dominant sales strategy?

ZoomZoomH 07-06-2005 12:21 PM

all you marketing majors should follow this closely :D

Already a thread in the lounge, word is it does not include Mazda. Someone did hint that there will be some new rebates for Mazdas though.

did the oterh thread mention chrysler jumping on the wagon? i dont remember seeing that there

Jedi54 07-06-2005 12:43 PM

Having owned mazdas for about the past 10 years, I am inclined to agree with Ike... as I just don't see Mazda jumping on this bandwagon.

C'MON Mazda, throw us a bone....! :(

My RX8 is scheduled for delivery in next 4 - 5 weeks: ...running...out...of...time...for...Mazda...rebat es...

It's all marketing sleight of hand anyway, they aren't going to lose any money on these deals. You could buy at the discounted price before the specials, you just had to haggle a little after all the rebates. But I wouldn't think Chrysler needed this, the new model lineup seems to be doing quite well.

From the article:

Excluded from the program are the 2005 Chrysler 300, Dodge Magnum, Dodge Sprinter, Dodge Viper, Jeep Liberty Diesel, all 2006 models and all SRT models.
So what cars are included? Read the fine print on any of these employee discounts and you'll quickly see that they exclude all the good models.

Why the hell would you want Mazda to participate? Won't that just devalue our 8s in the future (for us that already have them)?

As far as I know, my pricing website is the only one that provides employee pricing for all three manufacturers, and for cars equipped to spec, not just base prices.

Employee pricing is generally 2-3% below invoice. Except Mazda, which is a bit over 5% below invoice.

If you do visit my site, I could still use more RX-8s in my reliability study...

BTW, Mazda did just add a $1000 rebate on the RX-8 if you finance through Mazda credit. Even if you don't want to finance with them, do so and then pay off the loan or refi with someone else a week or two later. At least this is what I did on my P5 when MAC was giving a $250 rebate for financing with them.
