Came Across an Interesting Crossfire...
So I'm sitting at a stoplight getting ready to turn left in one of the more upscale areas of town, and this black crossfire pulls up behind me. I start thinking about how all the crossfire guys think their cars are better than ours. So I take the turn as the light turns green watching him to see if he wants to play around. He takes the open middle lane and blasts past me. I'm thinking "wow that was pretty fast for a crappy crossfire." So I give in and follow him up to the next light, and I see the license plate reads "LENO." The windows are tinted dark as hell, and the car was a convertible, and there's one thing for sure, it wasn't stock. So I took off driving pretty spiritedly, and Mr. Leno decided to play tag with me for a few miles of deserted street. I kept trying to see inside his car to see if it was actually Jay Leno, but I couldn't tell. He definitely had a female in the passenger seat though. I have heard that he was to be in town this month for a few days because of the new Wynn Casino and maybe to air the Tonight Show for a couple of nights...
Anyways Jay, if that was you, nice car, it sounds great and definitely isn't stock. Why you were driving a crossifre, I don't know... |
Oh geez, sorry I just realized this is probably the wrong section for the post...

there is a Crossfire SRT6 or something like that. i was reading a magazine in the Mazda dealership while my oil was being changed and it is pretty quick. 5.1 0-60 or so. so that may have been what it was.

That's what I was thinking, but I don't think the SRT-6 comes in a rag top does it?

i'm not sure if it comes in a rag top or not. but if it was Leno, chances are it probably had some super-crazy perfomance mods to it :)

Did it have the fixed wing? That is the way to tell the difference, the original has the flip up wing, the SRT has the fixed wing.
|
looking at chrysler's website, it was definitely the SRT-6 roadster...
|
With the SRT/AMG engine, it's a fast car. But I don't know if it's worth the money. I'd much rather take a C6 and not look back.
|
330 hp and 310 lbs sounds pretty good but at 50K, I could think of better cars to buy...
|
come on now, you had to be able to see the shadow from his chin. :D
|
Sure it's not the SRT-8. I only know of that one with a fixed wing
|
Guess I was wrong. The SRT-8 is faster and sweet
|
too bad he didn't drive his toronado ... that thing is bad

yeah it's some outrageous number, 50/50 weight distribution and twin turbo'd. Its a friggin beast. I think it made it to two magazines this month, popular mech. mag and road and track.

It's supposedly 1067hp, it has a TT 425 cubic in. V8, and a corvette suspension and drivetrain along with ABS breaks.
