Install looks easy as pie to be honest, just one wire needs to be cut and 3 others need to be tapped into. They give you the taps and a full set of instructions.

oh sweet, thanks man. and does it say/list exactly what this does or how sensitive it is? it is just for tilt/rocking the car (ie from jacking it up)? or does it do more than that?

sorry if that's a dumb question. i don't even know what the oe alarm does, ha ha

Well to be quite honest, I just purchased the add on shock senor for the car. After spending some time and reading up, it seems thats the best option. Like many have said, the other alarms are nice and flashy, but there are always ways to get around them.

well, there are ways around everything, but the point of an alarm is not really prevention, its just another step that a thief has to worry about. i mean, if its wheels you are really concerned about, the alarm + tilt sensor would be the best on top of lugs/locks, because once they jack up the car, there's an audible and visual alarm, and the thief would probably panic, and with a 2 way remote you would definitely know its your car, and not just one of the random neighbor's cars.

i really wouldn't worry about the car itself getting stolen because of the lack of demand for aftermarket and oem rx8 parts, not to mention the engine immobilizer. usually at best you would probably attract someone stealing just for a joy ride.

Its got adjustable sensitivity and it is supposed to trip when a shock is sensed. So I assume that tilting would cause some vibration through the chassis. Once I install I will test that out
