its good that masa made pole for his home town. for the f1 fans here, the pole for tommorow race 1130est .
i hope hamilton wins the chapionship tommorow. if not then kimi, anything but alonso. after watching hungry qualify and seeing what alonso did to hamilton by holding him up in the pits, so hamilton couldnt get the last lap for poll. made me dislike him, then seeing him run off hamilton off the track in the first turn in italy just very poor . oh well those are my opinions.

F***ing NASCAR ruined the finish. My DVR stopped the recording with just 50 seconds to go in Q3 because of NASCAR running late so I missed the biggest finale of the year! Glad to see Massa's time held up. With both McLaren's starting on the dirty side Kimmi's got a good shot at jumping into 2nd place going into turn 1. It'll be interesting to see what the team does if that happens. My call on the race finish stands at what I posted last week.

Just finished watching the F1 what a great race I was hoping Hamilton would win, it sucks how his engine started cutting out but at least Raikkonen won the championship he’s a great driver and deserves it.

Yes, great race. Kimi deserved the win and the championship. I was hoping for Hamilton myself, but as others have observed, he's a good sport when he loses too. He will be champion soon.

Good race and conclusion for the championship (hopefully)... Congrats to Kimi!

I thought the Mclarens would dominate this one but I never figured that the organizers would find a way to remove all of the bumps from the Interlagos track. Even so Hamilton would likely have been on the pace were it not for the mistakes. Anyway next year s/b pretty good especially if Alonso is in a competitve car.

Hamilton hit the shut down button on accident. What a totally unacceptable mistake. He deserved not to win the title.

McLaren deny Hamilton caused gearbox error

Hamilton was seen slowing down almost to a halt on lap eight of Sunday's race, dropping from sixth to 18th place, but was then able to regain speed.
The incident sparked rumours suggesting the 22-year-old pushed the wrong button on his steering wheel, which in turn left his car in neutral until he was given instructions over the radio how to reset the system.
Compounding these rumours was a report in Montreal's newspaper La Presse, which quotes Hamilton directly as saying he indeed pushed the wrong button.
However, a source close to the Hamilton family has described the report as "absolute rubbish", telling autosport.com that Hamilton has not spoken to the Canadian newspaper or said anything as such to anyone.
A McLaren spokesperson also denied the report and said the failure was not down to human error.
"We can confirm that the temporary gear shifting problem Lewis suffered on lap eight of the Brazilian Grand Prix was due to a default in the gearbox that selected neutral for a period of time," she said.
"It was not as a result of Lewis pressing an incorrect button on his steering wheel."
McLaren F1 CEO Martin Whitmarsh also ruled out driver error and said the likely reason is hydraulic valve failure.
"It was a gearbox problem, and it went into forced-neutral and changing down seemed to rectify it - it might be mechanical, but we doubt it," he told Autosport magazine.
"If it was something mechanical, they usually don't fix themselves. It could be electronics software - but there's no evidence in the analysis to support that. Could be a sensor - but again, there's no evidence in the data recordings.
"So it would appear that the barrels that change gear went out of control - and out of control of the driver - and that's probably hydraulic.
"That could be either a very small Moog servo control valves that were interfered with by a tiny piece of debris or they are sensitive to magnetic interference - something generated a magnetic field which caused the valve to misbehave."

We're never going to know the truth. Talk about misinformation. F1 and their teams are great at it.

F1 is evil, just like FIFA, USSF, and the Vatican.

I don't know about the whole button deal but Hamilton was way too tight in the early part of the race. All season long he didn't overdrive the car like that and he didn't do it GP2 either. Oh well, P2 in the championship is more than anyone predicted for him at the beginning of '07.

Anyway I just hope that next year Macca and Ferrari are challenged by other teams, especially as the FIA is adopting crappy engine regs as a cost saver...

The teams will always find a way to spend money. IMO it's the current aero package that is ruining the show.

If F1 is evil, then Ron Dennis is Dr. Evil himself. There's no doubt McLaren has been extremely successful since Dennis took control of the company. But there has always been very questionable ethics in every decade since. With Lauda, then Prost, then Senna, and now with Alonso/Hamilton. Mika was the only one to have had a fairly smooth ride while at McLaren.

Frankly, I'm amazed that Kimi was able to pull it off. I had pretty much written off his chances a few races ago. What a come back!

But after McLaren was found guilty of spying on Ferrari, if either Hamilton or Alonso had won the championship, it just wouldn't have been right.

IMO, the right man won for all the right reasons. He did have the most wins after all, and that's what racing is all about. He owes much to Massa's team play as well. Hats off to Kimi and the Ferrari team for a job well done!

Honestly, what the hell man? I'm not a big Hamilton fan but comments like that are just insane. The man drove a hell of a rookie season and deserved to win the title just as much as Alonso or Raikkonen. It's a mistake, and all of them did it. Raikkonen when he curb-slammed at Monte Carlo in qualifying or Alonso when he overdrove in the rain and put his car into the wall. They are human at the end of the day, and humans tend to fuck up when given the chance.

That was a really, really tool-like comment.
