Bmw M6

This may be old news but just paid a visit to http://www.bmwusa.com. They have a video of the M6. I would bet that music is Tangerine Dream--too cool...but anyway nice car. Check out the wallpaper. Can't imagine the G's in a 500 hp ride. :)

if i'm correct it won't be 500 hp until you hit the "power" button. get ready for the M5 as well...

Deuse 08-25-2005 05:53 PM

not to shabby

People in Mazda6club must be annoyed, since some members there refer to the Mazda6 as "the M6".

same drivetrain as the m5, lighter body with a carbon fiber roof (first ever for a production car) should be pretty light....uses a lot of tech from the M3CSL

should be a little faster than the m5....but who cares, id have both in my stable if I could

http://www.bmwusa.com/nr/rdonlyres/9.../m6_launch.swf

that should play the video full screen

Yeah without the power button you 'only' have 400 or so bhp. The M5's have hit the UK, seen a few around, awesome cars and awesome sound off that V10 when giving it some revs! :D

Same with the 3 forums. Some say M3. Just stick with MZ3 and MZ6.

i think M6 is significantly more expensive than M5, 100k+ vs 70k+

mikeb 08-26-2005 12:24 PM

m6 or m5

DROOL
i think they are so sharp

nSanity 08-26-2005 12:42 PM

Yeah the M6 is a lot more expensive, but its built as a performance car where the M5 isnt as hardcore. Lots of carbon fibre in the M6, the V10 is lighter than in the M5 even though same power output, so on so on, but either one :p

Theres a 4 year waiting list for the M5 at the moment in the UK :(

I love the concept of the M6, but I still can't get over the bodystyle of the current 6 Series. I saw an old M6 on the freeway and those were balls to the wall back in the late 80's. Plus, I love the old boxy look. When are they going to fire Chris Bangle and bring back the box?

nzarnow 08-28-2005 02:22 AM

Personally I think the M6 looks great at the front, but not so much in the back. I would rather have an M5 or the upcoming M3.

The M3 should be killer with a 400hp V8. They just better not ruin how good the current M3 looks...

Rotarian_SC 08-28-2005 08:02 AM

Looks like a fun car to drive, but I don't like the styling of the whole 6 series. I don't think they're going to change how the M3 looks much, after they made the 3 series almost the same (but yet still worse than before) because of the negative publicity over how their new cars were looking.

id rather have the M5 due to well.... same speed for less..

Speed-ER doc 08-29-2005 04:19 AM

A lady in a 6 series convertible rear-ended me and destroyed my RX-8. :(

The 6 is lighter and only has 2 doors, do you have proof of this "Same speed"?

Agree. But the back does work well on the convertible version.......

I wonder if there will be an M6 convertible?
