Wow, very nice. The last 6 series cars were very interesting. I would love the old M6 (also love the late 80's, early 90's M5). Easily my favorite Beemers.

oh btw, dealership mark up $15k. so the sticker lists $90k.
|
Looks nice, but 90K? No thanks.
|
a really nice looking car, much better than Z4 and 7.
|
A very nice car, we were invited to our dealer when it arrived, & we drove the heck out of it. It is a very nice car, but just like my dad's 7, it only looks good with the 19s. The 18s just don't set this car off.

btw, I think the car looks way better in person than on paper.

Looks great!
At the age of forty I 'll cartainly need one :) |
Originally posted by Speed-ER doc Looks nice, but 90K? No thanks. The only way to buy these cars is second hand , here in Australia the 7 series has dropped 50% of its value since its release . I feel the 6 series will go the same way , the price here in Australia will be around $230,000. NEW OUCH . I have read that theres a M6 in the works with a massive V10 ENGINE naturally aspirated , redlines as high as 8200rpm . The speedo runs to 330km/h--205mph, however the M6 will be electronically reined in at 155mph. 550 BHP, ENGINE DISPLACEMENT OF 5.5 OR 5.8 0-62MPH sprint in sub-5 seconds . 7 speed latest sequential manual gearbox . A cabriolet and a stripped out CSL VERSION MAY ALSO FOLLOW . Got info from UK CAR APRIL EDITION PAGE 24 . I owned a BMW 635 CSI in the 80, s GOOD FUN BUT EXPENSIVE TO RUN AND SERVICE. cheers michael |
M6= 550 HP=$$$$$$$$$$$$
Which is nice, I want one in red with a red interior... |
Its going to have the same engine as the new M5, 5.0 V10. 500+ hp. The dealer told us it would be around $105,000. Which isn't that bad considering the performance #'s, and the fact that it is a BMW. My dad's '05 M5 that he put a deposit on is an estimated $87,000, which is a bargain compaired to the last M5. There will be no CSL of the convertible, but there will be a M6 CSL that will probably have 550hp.

I just don't know Troy,
The new 5 is one of Chris Bangle's worst designs.....however the 6 is pure sex. |

Originally posted by IkeWRX Have you seen a 6 in person yet, I think it's the worst of the new designs (Z4 excluded). I rather liked it from the pics, but once I saw it I didn't like it one bit. The 5 series for some odd reason is growing on me despite the tailights having been installed upside down. I did see the new 6...and love it, however the 5 just makes me want to blow chunks (compared to the old 5). I also like the 7 and most people do not. Hell I even like that hot-rod Subaru after a few drinks. (make that a lot of drinks). The Baller |
I may be a BMW enthusiast, but I live all of their new designs; they make the current 3-series look outdated though. They have such clean lines, and BIG wheels stock. With Mercedes and Audi, all the models look the same, just differant sizes. With BMW, you have the BMW influence, but each is differant, and that is great. Besides, how can one say the Z4 is ugly, when our RX-8 is equally confusing and futuristic looking. I like both.

The Baller Jeup, I don't know what planet you've been living on, but BMW is the king of making many of their models look the same. That's a big reason why so many people are up in arms about Bangle, because you can actually tell them apart now. As for the Z4... it just looks to me like Pontiac snuck into the BMW design department, changed the design, and sent it off to be produced. Then again, I didn't like the Z3 either... |
I know BMW's used to be all alike. I aplaud the new BMW designs, becuase it differentiates (spelling?) the models.

Originally posted by IkeWRX I like the 7 series as well, but the more I see the 5 the more I like it evn though I hated it at first. It's funny, sometimes when I drink I start to think about how fast the RX-8 is. Jeup, I don't know what planet you've been living on, but BMW is the king of making many of their models look the same. The front looks like a Z4. The back looks like the new Accord coupe. I'm sure it's a swell car to drive, but if I'm spending $80k+ I at least need to be able to look at the car without feeling nauseous.
I hope they don't Bangle up the 3-serious too badly... :( |
