droool... i like the rear a lot better than the sedan. after it gets some mag reviews id seriously consider trading in for one of these.

Red Devil 04-21-2006 02:48 PM

And AWD, that car is hot.

Steiner 04-21-2006 02:54 PM

I'd love to see an M version of this car. Methinks it would be an Evo/STi killer with leather and climate control.

Detrich 04-21-2006 02:57 PM

hmm... the front looks okay. but, overall, the new design really doesn't make my heart pump anywhere near the way it did back in 1998 when they first re-designed the 3... the angles on the new models look forced, un-natural, and just not very fluid. the rear tail lights still don't look right either. the specs sound great, but i'm sure with a sky-high price tag to match.

RotoRocket 04-21-2006 03:20 PM

I like it. Definitely more edgy, with that sharp bone line running down the top quarter.

Nice way to update what was becoming a tired look for BMW.

rickeo 04-21-2006 03:27 PM

twin turbo 6.. reminds me of the good old days of the bi-turbo S4's, those where hot, forget this new V8 non-sense. and this is AWD, even more like it.

And i think its still way out of the Evo/STi's leauge, even if the performance is similair. Theres a thing called class that those two pervious cars sevearly lack.

EDIT i just looked at the other pics and comon... that seatbelt thing is cool..., definetly could work without it, but its still really cool.

XDEEDUBBX 04-21-2006 03:43 PM

i actually like it...

RA-Eight 04-21-2006 03:44 PM

Not bad looking at all. Hopefully they've tuned the suspension apart from the e90 330 sedan, because the suspension on that car had some major body roll.

Can't compare these two breed of cars (STi/Evo vs. M). Performance may or may not seem similar, but completely built for very different reasons. Magazines will continue to run comparison tests against rockets from the other German manufacturers (C-Class AMG, RS/S4). Can't wait to see the //M version though.

Looks like an ugly G6 mated with an ugly G35 sedan to me, but I'm in the Chris Bangle should die camp :) .

BlueEyes 04-21-2006 05:02 PM

I love it. However, it looks like it tips the scales near 3500 lbs.

That petition has very poor grammar. The second line is not even a complete sentence.

"To: BMW

Dear BMW,

Thank you for creating such great automotive machines. Exhibiting the highest standards of performance, design, luxury, and prestige. Once again the undersigned thank you, BMW, for creating our dream cars. Please continue doing so, fire Chris Bangle, and DO NOT allow him to design [ruin] any more of your wonderful BMWs.

Sincerely,

The Undersigned

Germans are very particular about all things, including grammar.

I never knew what a dangling participle really was, but if I could have it be anything, it would be that second line.

Mugatu 04-21-2006 05:54 PM

not bad

We already said goodbye a long long time ago.

The E46 was quite a bit heavier than the E36, which weighed about the same as our RX-8. But even the E36 was heavy compared to the original E30 M3.

With a V8 under its hood, the E90 M3 will weigh a ton. But I bet it will look really sharp in M cladding. Yet another cool car to look forward to.

rx8wannahave 04-21-2006 10:04 PM

not bad....not great either.

There are too many lines that don't know where they are going...without purpose. I've always liked BMW's but with every new style they come up with it seems they find a way to...ummm, confuse things.

They take a handsome style and somehow think a bunch of lines running over it in all sorts of directions (again with no purpose, that the lines know of at least) equal making the car more aggressive.

Again, it's still handsome because the lines can't mess it all up...but I just don't agree with the strange use of lines on the car.

rx8wannahave 04-21-2006 10:07 PM

...oh yeah, with that said yes...the I-6 with 300HP is pretty dang good to say the least.

rickeo 04-21-2006 11:44 PM

One of the last I-6's right?

i def agree with you, it looks and feels forced. but it is a bmw :)

jefferrari 04-22-2006 12:24 AM

what about the numbers? 328? I am confused

mike1324a 04-22-2006 02:00 AM

The 335i is not AWD. The 328xi is AWD but not turbo.

TODreamer 04-22-2006 08:37 AM
