BMW 330ci?
anyone happen to know when the new 330/325ci model will come?
|
there will be no new 330ci, the 3 series coupe is now going to be the 4-series. 3 series is the saloon now. 4 series is coming out in the UK/europe soon, but not sure about anywhere else.
|
So if they make the 1 and 2 series as well does that mean that they're making odd numbers mean a sedan and even mean a coupe? lol
|
From Carpoint it will be in the US next spring.
Introduction -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The 3-Series is BMW's entry-level model in the near-luxury segment, redesigned and updated for the 2006 model year will the sedan on sale in the spring, followed by the coupe and convertible. A descendant of the mid-'60s BMW 1600, considered by many automotive enthusiasts to be the first compact sedan to offer sports-car performance, the 3-Series has continued to be the benchmark of sport sedans. The 3-Series designation first appeared in America in 1977, and the car evolved from a rather boxy shape to a fluid, aerodynamic design and now incorporates BMW’s new design language. The previous-generation 3-Series sedan was introduced as a 1999 model. New for 2006 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The 2006 BMW 3-Series debuts with an all-new design that blends 3-Series character with new styling elements from the 7-Series and the 5-Series. The 2006 BMW 3-Series will be offered as the 325i Sedan and 330i Sedan, followed later by coupe and convertible versions. Both sedans are powered by new inline six-cylinder engines that use magnesium/aluminum composite for reduced weight and include the first use of BMW VALVETRONIC for a six-cylinder engine. The 330i is powered by a 255-horsepower 3.0-liter with 220 lb-ft of torque and the 325i is powered by a 215-horsepower 3.0-liter with 185 lb-ft of torque. |
yes they're making the even numbers coupes and odd numbers sedans.... one expection tho, i think the M3 will stay as the M3....
|
M3 is changing to M4
|
Will the M4 have the optional laser scope, flashlight and silencer available? lol
|
the M3 'may' be the saloon version, and M4 coupe (they are even considering a estate to compete with the merc e55, audi rs4) but time will tell
|
havn't seen any pic for the coupe, hope it will be different than the 3 series.
I like the new BMW styling, except for the new 3 series, too conservative and too old. It isn't as stunning as the 1 or 5 or 6 or z4. I saw a 1 in mexico... very handsome. |

is the 4 series even confirmed for the US yet?
|
where the heck are you guys getting this information.
as far as i know the 3 series will have a two door eventually. the 3 series wagon will be out before the coupe. i haven't even heard of a 4 series. M3 will always be M3. the M4 is supposedly a V8 powered Z4. the new M3 will be a coupe, powered by a V8 as well. BMW is also bringing diesel and hydrogen powered cars within the next couple years. rumors about an X7, which is supposed to be some sort of van. i've heard all of this from an instructor at school. |
bmw's=blah

Search online for bmw 4 series and you will see. |

I hate the Z4 styling compared to the Z3. The Z3 was small and quick looking, like a roadster should be. The Z4 is bloated and fat, IMHO...
|
i didnt like the look of the Z3, much prefer the beefier/more aggresive look of the Z4
|
I've already driven a 2006 330i.
Its a stupid waste of money. The clutch was feather soft, the shifter was a huge stick, there was not that much pickup, and the most hated thing of all: digital turn signals! |
E90 3 series coupe will come out in 2007.
|
eh... where are you getting that from.
The 4 series, is the 3 series but in couple/convertible form... why would they bring out a 3 series coupe that would take away their sales of 4 series. |
from the website:
http://phark.typepad.com/phark/2004/...mw_4_seri.html When I posted last about the 2-series, I mentioned that BMW would be changing their naming conventions. Coupe versions would now get a +1 added to their name, and become even-numbered. This aligns well with their current naming of the 6-series, which is a coupe version of the new 5-series (same suspension and platform, etc.). So it only makes sense that the new 3-series coupe be dubbed the 4-series, but over the past 3 months magazines and websites have been waffling over this. It appears as though BMW hasn't quite made up their mind yet about the new naming convention, so it's up in the air as I'm writing this (as far as I know). |
the 4 series is just a rumor. i even checked with our sales dept. and the manager doesn't even have any documentation of a 4 series. he did inform me that the coupe/convertible verison will come out as a 2007. BMW is very good at keeping things on the d/l...they won't even let you take pictures at BMW NA headquarters in NJ.
|
urms, but the 4 series is due for launch in the UK MUCH sooner than 2007, i know they release their cars maybe a year later in the US than in Europe. Suppose will have to wait and see, but all the bmw sales guys ive spoken to are sure about the 4 series, and are taking deposits on them, spring/summer 2006 is when they are due here i think
|
well...i guess we'll just have to wait and see.
on a side note...i agree with staticlag. i'm not to giddy on the new E90...everything is too comfortable and smooth. can't feel anything. nice car tho. |
The 4 series is not official yet, it still might be the 3 series. But the car is coming out 12 months after the 4 door
