Pruett: The MZR-R engine did well in 2007--any thoughts on if we might see a return of Renesis rotary power in the future?

Doonan: “Rotary power and the spirit of sticking with the rotary engine development over the years is certainly a cornerstone of the Mazda brand and our heritage. We have made a commitment to the MZR-R program for ALMS...by the same token we continue to focus our rotary engine development in motorsports on our Rolex GT customer car program and certainly in the Star Mazda Series. But...you never know...with the reliability of Mazda rotary power....you can never count that engine out.”
