Anyone seen this...Camaro concept?
I did a search, but didn't find anything.
http://hp-car.com/2005.html Pretty darn sexy. I think this is a rendering done by a Camaro supporter and sent to GM. It's not an official concept, but if GM built that i'd seriously consider buying it. Always been a big fan of the 60's early 70's body styles. |
Hey therm8, nice find. I've also owned quite a few '70's muscle cars including a '68 Camaro....and have to agree that if Chevy would go with something like those lines they'd be back in the game "big time".

Why do these big-time car companies have to be so secretive? It makes me sooo mad when they do that. I mean, what if Mazda had been that secretive and I bought the Audi TT a couple of months before the 8 was released? That is how I feel about this new Camaro. I feel like I want to cry.

wow that thing is gorgeous.
but seeing as how they just got rid of that car they probably arent gonna bring it back anytime soon. |

When you're replacing an existing product, it makes sense to keep everything under wraps as long as possible. Toyota won't show the next Camry until right before it goes on sale, because otherwise people would not buy the current Camry and wait for its replacement. But the RX8 was replacing a car that had been out of production for the US for over 8 model years. It made no sense for them to delay releasing information. |

1,000 times better looking than the new Mustang.

The whole retro thing is begining to bore me. I appreciate the styling of classic cars but it just seems lazy an unimaginative to rehash old designs.
Having said that, this and the new Mustang designs are killer. When you produce a car and it hasn't looked good for thirty years then perhaps a step back is a good idea. I'd buy one. |
IMO this is really what the GTO should have looked like, something more like this than its bland current styling. I don't like the new mustang but this Camaro looks nice.
|
i totally agree. the gto just looks like another grand am. at least it has some balls...

nice looking ride

Yuck, I'm so sick of retro... it's been done to death already. Not only are they unable to come up with a good new design, they're just mindlessly following the retro trend on top of that. Say what you want about the RX-8, but at least Mazda is willing to try new designs instead of just rehashing old ones.

Retro or not I think that concept looks great. Maybe it's because or the curvy shape. Either way I'd like to see the Camaros and/or Firebirds return.
I do have to say the front ends could use more work. There has got to be a smoother design for the front than those two. |
