Anyone ever ship cars coast to coast?

I'll be in the lovely state of Florida sometime this year but will be going back to California next spring. If I do end up finding a good ride here, I'll probably have it shipped to California when I do leave.

Only problem is that I never really had a car shipped across the U.S. before. Anyone have any experience? How much does it normally run?

I shipped from GA to Cali 3 years ago. Was about 725. Open trailer. No issues, just a little dusty at the end.

Google is your friend. You should get quotes. I'd say 800-1000 bucks.

really? I thought you can get it for 500 to 600. That's what people have been posting.

OPP! Gas prices just went up again!

I would recommend doing a lot of careful research. There are a lot of auto transport companies that work through brokers who will put your car off for weeks/months until they have a 'full load.' Instead of the yellow pages, use BBB.com as a starting point. I would also budget for over a grand if you schedule it during the peak season.
