Any news for ALMS 3-rotor Mazda?

With the first race of the season fast approaching, next sat 1030 EST, I am wondering if the team had made any changes to 3-rotor powered race car.

Last I saw on this board was they were using an outdated chassis with an outdated tranmission? giving them a really bad weight disadvantage, and they werent making enough power out of the 3-rotor to really compete with the other guys on the track.

So with the new season coming, what kind of changes have they made to this car to make it more competitive? Perhaps a new LMP2 chassis from Courage? something-75 if i remember correctly.

Supposedly they're going to a Lola chassis. I don't think their entry into LMP2 was properly thought out in the first place. It's just not the best bang for the buck even if they stood a chance of being competitive. Porsche on the other hand have thought it through an are allowing wealthy privateers foot a good portion of the bill. These are guys who have raced at lesser levels and indicated to the manufacturer that they wanted to step up. The manufacturer then put their money with one of the most experienced and proven race houses to bring the right package to market in a timely fashion in order to dominate right out of the box. Mazda's best bet in my humble opinion is to focus funds and brainpower on GT related classes where their fans and prospective customers can relate to the cars on the track and enroll the full-fledged help of Mazda Japan for 3 rotor engine development. Right now it's still quite a mess but there's a lot of potential.
I'm actually quite excited about the future.
