Alfa Romero MITO

Looks pretty sexy . but the vent location looks weird. btw this is just a artist rendering. http://www.worldcarfans.com/9080625....30hp-confirmed

"If you think the new Alfa Romeo MiTo looks good now, wait until the seriously sporty GTA version is launched. Representing the most powerful model in the range with the GTA designation, the MiTo is expected to arrive following the standard MiTo's launch in summer 2009. The top range hot-hatch will produce 230hp from a 1.8-liter turbocharged engine with direct injection and variable valve timing.

Although the image above is rendered speculation from the fine folks over at Progetto955.it it looks tantalizingly good with the over sized rims on low-profile tires which fill in the air gap of the bulbous wheel arches quite nicely. The body kit is eccentric, but still, tastefully done.

According to 4car, Alfa says it will be the most powerful car in the segment, and compared to MINI's 175hp Cooper S, they are most certainly correct.

That's pretty hot. I dunno why but lately I've been really digging the hot hatches. Too bad most of the really good ones never make it stateside. :(

We could actually get this car as Alfa Romeo has confirmed that it will launch in the US again. I think 2010-2011 is the latest date. I know the 8C Competizione, next gen Brera, 159 were confirmed and have seen talk of the MiTo coming also. Hopefully we will get some of the small cars as the more premium/upmarket small cars we get in the US the better IMO. Alfa will have to shake the sub-par reliability reputation they earned here when they left in the late 80's early 90's to get anywhere though and the current economy situation is definitely not ideal for relaunching in the US right now so we'll see what happens. The more competition the better though. I love the look of the modern Alfa's inside and out (think it easily has some of the best styling to date) - just hope they become more of a driver's car then what they seem to be.
