"8 discontinued cars that we want back"
Just another link from yahoo, but was surprised they mention the rx8, and allude to the front midship engine placement.
8 Awesome Discontinued Cars That We Want Back | Wall St. Cheat Sheet I do wonder why Ford hasn't brought back the GT. |
I stopped reading when I opened it and saw
1. Ford Ranger the Ford Ranger should never be at the top of any list. :lol2: |
Wasn't that also a Mazda truck?

I believe you are thinking of the Courier.

All of them are nice enough cars, except the Ranger, and a Saab 900:rollingla???

I used to have a B4000. I always called it the Mazda Ranger. It was a great truck.

lol, here's my thoughts.
1. ranger, jedi 54 is right, while a small truck seems like a good idea, can we have something less crap? 2. Rx8, of course they should keep making it! 3. G8, i think this seems like a good car too 4. dodge magnum, hated it, but it seems like it would be cool somewhere? 5. S2000, these things are a dime a dozen, i actually didn't know they stopped making them 6. Saab? they are neat if you get the chance drive one. 7. NSX, nobody wanted this in the first place 8. Ford GT, it should be a limited run special car. if they did an S2 this is ok, but its not a camry, they shouldn't have a 2 for the price of 1 offer at walmart for it. |
I never knew they discontinued the Dodge Magnum? I thought Dodge still sells them...lol
Anyway, they should bring back the rx8 for sure... :) |

News item the other day. the RX-8 is in the list, as it should be. :D

I admit I shed an invisible tear when I saw they had the Ranger first. I had one in high school but it had the Lima 4 cylinder instead of the Duratec/MZR.
Mazda did sell a version called the B-series. The base 4 cylinder was the Duratec/MZR but the transmission was a Toyo-Kogyo aka Mazda based design. The transmission used in the Duratec/MZR based 2.3L even used the same bolt pattern. That makes it cheaper to use in locost replica builds. Besides the RX-8, the rest were mostly limited run or the victim of corporate politics. The Magnum was probably because CAFE unfairly rewards companies for building larger vehicles rather than more fuel efficient ones. The official reason for canceling the RX-8 was emissions but we know sales of all sports cars were miniscule after the Economic melt down. |
they forgot to mention poor gas mileage, bad service reliability, and atrocious dealership experiences

My first car that I personnaly owned was a so-called MAZDA Ranger. I couldn't afford the splash edition Ranger so I did a little research and went to MAZDA. I bought the first production B3000 Troy Lee Edition out the drealer for $19k, had the flames removed and upgraded to larger wheels. I got rid of it and bought the RX-8 seven years later, it's probably in B-Series Truck Heaven(a.k.a. mainland HI). I just gravitate to "suicide doors" :dunno:
