330i vs IS350? which is better?
I noticed that the E90 3-series isn't that good for its price, well at least compared the new lexus IS thats coming out soon. IS350 has 305hp while the 330i only has 255 =\, the 350 has awd and has all the luxuries the new bmw has (adaptive cruise control, keyless entry etc). lexus also has toyotas awesome reliability. mayb its just me but it seems like the beamer doesnt stand a chance against it =\. what do u think?
on the other hand i think the beamer looks better inside and out and it has manual unlike the 350 |
The 3 series just won a big magazine comparison even though the Lexus has more hp. The 3 series will destroy the IS in sales, it won't even be close...
|
yeah, you should know it's not all about HP. I would be willing to bet a testicle the chasis of the 330 is lightyears ahead of the IS350.

If you're shopping the premium brand and you like to DRIVE and not just sit on a couch with wheels:
BMW>Infiniti>Audi>MB&Lexus. IMHO, Lexus gave up on chasing BMW and set its sights on Mercedes. As great as Acura is, it doesn't make the cut in my book because of one glaring offense; FWD. |
Yeah, Lexus can't touch BMW.
|
IS350 does not have AWD, only IS250 has it.

Our family's experience with Bimmers are bad from 3 different kinds from a reliability standpoint: older 325i, 530i, and X5. After looking back, overpriced for what they were. I like where Infiniti is going- Why even consider a 525i when a M35 can be had for the same price? It's like people don't know what they are buying.
This new Lex looks nice (besides the hyundai looking rear lights) and isn't even released yet and people go bashing. BMW is too obvious a choice when there are many great cars around. When someone runs into a little bit of money.. they will buy a BMW and a Rolex. I wish they had taken bigger risks with the style of the 3 series... very boring to look at in print and in person although it's got great reviews. We will see what happens. |

With the street price of a CTS-V going for $43k we can throw that in the mix with the I350 and the 330I ;) , but people usually go by MSRP :o . And to it's credit, I consider the CTS-V in the M3, S4 league. |

If one compares a CTS-V with an M3 the Caddy is at a major disadvantage in performance tests because the CTS is the size of a 5er or M45. If one cut the price by 30% on the M45 and 5er they too would not match up favorably with an M3 in the fun to drive area. |

CTS is much bigger than a 3. I drove a CTS-V and loved every second of it. If had the money I'd take the caddi over the others you guys have mentioned.
|
I would take a used E39 M5 over all that. Imola Red/black please.

I guess somebody is looking for an answer of other than the fact that the CTS-V is ugly. Personal choice, but I would never get a CTS-V, even if it was cheaper than an M45.
As for the BMW & Lexus. I get Autoweek & they just ran that comparison, showed that the IS 350 basically ate the BMW 330's lunch on all acceleration tests, but that the BMW had better brakes, & outhandled the Lexus. |

what does 'ov cos' mean?
usually I can decifer mispelled words, but I got nothing. |
I think he means 'of course'. I think he posts like he talks.
|
wow. I had a feeling but then I said noooooooo!! nobody would take a two letter word (of) then replace it with another two letter word (ov) to mean the same thing. That's just ridiculous.
