2011 RX8 R3 30k mile service questions???

I have a 2011 R3 that's pretty much my weekend car. It just about to flip to 30k miles and everything has been maintained very well from day 1. I have changed the oil with GTX 5w30 every 2-3k miles (with mazda filter). I also changed the trans and rear diff fluid with Redline based on lots of reviews from this site at 20k miles (shifts very smooth now). My only mods are BHR midpipe and RB cat back. My question is, do i need to changed plugs and possible the IGN system with something like the BHR system? Is premixing also something recommended?

You should inspect/change the plugs. It's highly recommended to the replace the coils at that mileage preventatively, either with BHR, another aftermarket LS-based set or simple stock replacement ones.

There are many threads on premixing without conclusive evidence for or against. Largely an informed personal choice at this point.

Rotaryperformance.com has a nice little tune-up kit that has been working well for me. If your midpipe is catless you can take out the air pump.

That's a rare car - 2011 R3! Take care of her.
-BHR ignition
-I like to premix with Idemitsu, why not, it's pretty cheap to add 1/2oz/gal.
-Have dealer check compression towards the end of 8yr/100k warranty (dealer can tell you when it expires)

good luck!

Thanks. I have two daughter and i figure they can have kind of a rare car one day. Not sure if its true but I think Mazda released a report for 2011 R3 sales and its just over 200units. IDK.. Do you know if the BHR is any better then stock Mazda? Or is this more preference. I do have a catless Midpipe so I might try premixing. I have changed all the fluids myself, so i hope Mazda will still keep my 100k warranty.

BHR coils do last, otherwise it is mostly equivalent to OE coils as far as a stock NA car is concerned.

BHR coils are a once and done purchase. Install them, and you should never have to worry about coils again.

For plugs, you can follow the service interval in the manual, or change the a little earlier, if it makes you feel better.

Premix is probably a good idea, although there is no conclusive proof to that effect. I use 8 ounces of Lucas 2 Cycle Semi Synth per fill-up. It is inexpensive and widely available.

Go to MyMazda.com and enter all your service records on that web site. People claim Mazda will honor the warranty, if you create that "paper" trail. It is also a good idea to keep all your receipts for oil and filters, etc.

If you remove the air pump, you will have to reinstall it to pass inspection in most places. Not really worth it IMHO.
