And if they bring this over, they should bring the Sport Ka as well!

Also, why does Ford need both Lincoln and Mercury? I honestly don't understand the distinction between the two.
I think it was the rental car in Casino Royale.

Well that is the problem with Mercury--as it is now--they might as well ax it b/c there is no difference. They should ax it or make a point to differentiate it.

I think they should ax GMC Trucks and I'm really not sure what the point of Saturn is.

Ford should be:

Lincoln: Cadillac and luxury import competitor
Mercury: stylish import focused cars
Ford: general value, sport and trucks/suvs
If I remember correctly GM bought Saturn and has since been trying to give it a identity which is good since if you asked anyone about 5 years ago about Saturn they'd say "They are cars for people who dont care about cars.". GMC I agree should be axed since all they sell are well base model trucks and stripped down escalades. Its kidna pointless really, fold these cars into their respective brands and if they still wish to use the GMC name have it become a "perfomance label" I dunno.

Lincoln: Hi-end luxury cars, I'm talking cars that would make Mercedes and Lexus cringe when hearing they are coming out with a new model.

Mercury: European inspired brand ('cause Ford will/should be bringing all their good european cars ova to our shores). Focus should be ride quality and comfort, if you will (might get hated for this) be a poor mans BMW alternative.

Ford:
A Everymans brand car, but with a slight attitude. Have people ascociated the word "Bold" with Ford like people ascociate "Zoom" to Mazda. Keep the trucks since they sell like hot cakes, Mustang again sells like hot cakes, when/if Mazda makes the Kabura steal the frame/idea from 'em and make a new probe to compete with the Civics/Cobalts, redfine the Focus to get rid of its stigma it has, make a definitive difference between the Fusion and Taurus (500).

Whoops went on a small rant with Ford haha.. oh well.

In its current state, if Lincoln brought out something that high-end, nobody would buy it. Lincoln needs to build its cachet and status back up before it can be a credible high-end luxury maker. It has an image of old-people and airport rides.

It needs to do an Infiniti style renaissance...bring out one world class car in the $30-40K range that will give the entire line a boost and renaissance.

It was just another marketing research failure by Ford just like they currently are experiencing.
I disagree. Ford saw great success with the Escort and decided to bring the Contour. Unfortunately, it didn't meet with as much success. I think the cars look good in its own, well after '99. The SVT version will always remain one of my favorite cars of all time. They continue to bring the watered euro flavor with the Focus, and was met with success. The Contour was just underpowered and a tad small for its market.

Doesn't suprise me. The 2.5L Duratech Ford ran in the SVTC was at 200hp.

I always thought it was ugly but to each his own.

I will agree that the base was underpowered and it was way too small in the rear seat compared to competitors.

It is amazing how close the 500 (now Taurus) outfitted like that looks like the original Taurus.

I don't think that is a compliment for the new Taurus/500.

I like it! If the 6 takes some styling cues from this in the future, we could end up with an exciting sedan. (that speed 6 would rule!)

I'm waiting for the new 6 as it is slightly larger.
