I'm biting my tongue until I see the real thing.

Definitely a little resemblance between this and the 7. |
Is this the kind of car to be driving, or be driven in? Yea it does look a lot like the 7 series.
|
lookin more like its big brother...maybach...

The real qustion is will they crack the 600hp mark with the new S600? I think it's funny after Bangle has been slammed repeatedly and now other manufacturers are starting to take queues from his designs. Which is what he's said all along, that his designs are forward thinking and that they are just staying ahead of the proverbial Jones'.
|
^^ that is exactly what I was thinking!! I was trying to find the other pics instead of posting about that though. Certainly vindicates bangle and bmw. I want to see how MB's version of I Drive works. That interior is strikingly similar to the 7 too.

The inside is almost the same as the BMW

It sounds like no one likes the new design...
I think it looks great from the side angle, not very "forward thinking" at all from the front. |

It's rated at 382 hp and 383 pound-feet of torque, which Mercedes says is enough to accelerate the large sedan from zero to 100 km/h (0-62 mph) in 5.4 seconds. The 12-cylinder in the S600 also gets more power. It's up to 510 hp and 600 lb-ft of torque.

Forget the comparisons to BMW, MB stole our RX-8's fender flares!
|
well, then, I suppose the 8 stole them from the focus. Either that or the MB stole them from the focus and didn't take anything from the 8.

Nah, the Focus isn't even close.
Look at the front fender of the new S-class in RX8-79's pics, it's very 8 like in how it arcs over the wheel to the top of the hood line. Also the way the front fender flare connects along the lower body with an indented line to the rear fender, very 8 like. The new MB CL-class has also copied this RX-8 styling cue. |
