2 Miata Variants on the Way?
 

Did anyone read the September issue of Road & Track? The magazine mentions the possibility of a mini-Miata that is front wheel drive and a coupe version of the new NC that is kinda like the M-Coupe in shape. I believe they said one of the cars may be at the Frankfurt show.

I wouldn't mind seeing a coupe version, but not like the "clown shoe" shape of the old M-coupe.

I haven't heard anything, but that sounds like it could be sweet. I guess I'd have to see pictures first though.

Ya saw that too...the coupe version looked awesome...my god that would make a great track car.

I did like the slightly different bumper design on the coupe. The changes drawn to the grill and fog lights made a nice difference to the design.

Yeah, my dad just bought one, and when he sent me pictures, I really didn't like it. But after seeing it in person it started to grow on me, and now I really like it.
Oh yeah, and driving it helped too :D :D

If Mazda makes a front wheel drive convertible it would be on the 3 platform. I think they already have the Volvo version.

actually, the very same article says this fwd convertible will be based on the Mazda2/Demio platform, so it's actually SMALLER than a 3

There was an NB coupe in Japan that looked sweet. I'd like to see them do the same with the NC, but that concept pic is ugly.

A little off subject...but, I just saw pics of the NC with the new Mazdaspeed body kit and the car looks great! There is already a bunch of MS parts available similar to the RX-8 parts (body, suspension, exhaust, seats, strut bar, etc.) The basic accessory body parts look really good too, but the MS front bumper is just great.

Agreed, I really like the new NC body style, except for the tail lights.

You can go to www.w-tune.com to appliy the body parts just like with the RX-8. I personally like the car in black with the MS front bumper, MS red seats, and normal accessory side skirts, rear bumper, and spoiler.
