Mid-engined Rotary 1973 Corvette Prototype credited among 10 cars that led to current mid-engined C8 Corvette under development.

This was years before the first RX7 !! I remember the buzz around this, back when I was in college driving an RX3. Imagine how the rotary world would have been different if GM, the largest car company in the world (at that time) had made it work !!

I welcome the Corvette C5-C7 and the new C8 for continuing "affordable" sports cars to the masses. The Corvette has its image but that aside provides a certain set of attributes for a 2-seater. The same for the new 2020 BMWupra. After driving a co-worker's C5 a few weekends, I can see myself in a C5-C7 when I no longer need 4 seats. Thanks GM for continuing a tradition of affordable sports cars.

Corvette C7 and older build quality as new isn't the same as a Porsche - but the C5/C7 cost of ownership (C&D) is quite low and reliability quite high compared with other $50-80K cars.

I was worried then pleasantly surprised when Ruess said that the base C8 would be < $USD 60000.
