some retard will actually pay it despite the fact that this car is not worth anything near $100,000-

RotoRocket 03-12-2008 01:28 PM

wtf.

Seriously.

lxlxlxl_saki_lxlxlxl 03-12-2008 01:30 PM

100,000 i will take a M5 in the dealer and save some money instead of the M3, price will eventually drop after a while. =/

sleeperx8 03-12-2008 01:40 PM

lucky for us... Savage BMW sent me an e-mail saying it's $56,500.

Detrich 03-12-2008 01:50 PM

i think there are a lot of ppl who pre-ordered already. some even from this board, actually. i wonder if they will get stuck w/ that $100K price tag or do they get MSRP from ordering early. i wouldn't be surprised if the dealers took their deposits and then came back with a "um, sorry guys but we can't sell u the car for that price. here's the new price and/ or your deposit back if u want to opt out."

maybe someone who pre-ordered can sound in? mike? (nudge)

scoreo99 03-12-2008 01:51 PM

can someone post the pic on here? i dont feel like signing up to the bmw board just to view one pic

VikingDJ 03-12-2008 02:04 PM

one of two things. Stupidity, or so much money 30k extra is like the $60 I have in my wallet.

If I had the authority, I'd make it ILLEGAL to mark up any car over sticker price. It's pure greed, and preying on gullable people. Bastards!!!

Cattywampus 03-12-2008 02:22 PM

It's probably just for show. I doubt they expect someone to pay 100k. It is in CA so you never know. Hell Jessica Simpson paid $800 for 3 pairs of underwear.

xsnipersgox 03-12-2008 02:50 PM

makes me wonder what kinda premium would be on the GTR!! o.O *shudders*

JRichter 03-12-2008 04:03 PM

Aproaching $100k, I'd be at the Porsche dealer looking at 911's...

SayNoToPistons 03-12-2008 05:17 PM

I think you can blame some of that on the cargo ship that tipped with lots of M3's inside.

Detrich 03-12-2008 05:50 PM

pix updated.

Rootski 03-12-2008 06:02 PM

I'd be off looking at an R8.

The V8 or the V12? LOL yeah i know the V12 isnt available, but holy sh$# it sounds bad.

Either way im with you, the R8 is about as sexy as it gets.

Another extreme would be the ZR1.....just sick speed for 100K

Price negotiations SHOULD have been done before a pre-order is completed. IF not, deposits are 100% refundable.

It's simply a tactic to let the market set it's own price. I doubt more then a cou[ple, if any get sold at these prices. Most will be sold near sticker. Supply and demand.
Someone said they think it should be illegal to sell for over sticker, that's silly, if you don't like it, don't pay it. There is a pricde for exclisivity, it's as simple as that. Don't be an early adopter, noone is forcing you to.

Feras 03-12-2008 06:57 PM

hell if you are a good enough negotiator you can get a car specially ordered at below MSRP (the trick is to play the dealers off eachother and not expect any more than $500 below MSRP lol)

snowflakes 03-12-2008 11:50 PM

thats a lie.

BillK 03-13-2008 03:28 AM

Supply and demand. Someone who wants one today and doesn't want to order one or search around will pay it, especially in the N. Hollywood/Universal City area.

Meanwhile, the M3 is fairly easy to obtain as long as you don't mind a four month or so wait.

The good news is that since you'll be ordering, you get to specify your car exactly as you want it rather than have to settle for what's on the lot.

smrx8 03-13-2008 07:41 AM

I went last week to try to get a a lease deal 7,000 down 1,200 a month i walked out and said no thanks. The car is nice but to me was not worth that money.

yeah, but she'll wear them, and then sell them on ebay and make 4 times that.

You are not going to be able to do that with a BMW
