Sprint Booster - Century Sprint?

Hi,

Thanks gfoo for bringing to the attention of many to this add-on  . Have done abit of internet reading, but yet to determine one thing - does it improve 0-100 timing? Anyone with experience to share?

Many thanks.

No it doesn't. It improves performance feel in part load conditions. I got one to test and I found it pretty good, as many other fellow owners who tested it last weekend in France. But you have to order the correct one for your car : they have a version for each RX-8 (SP / HP or if you prefer Auto / Manual) as the HP version is too aggressive for the SP (unless you think driveabilty is for sissies).

i think it does improve 1-100 timing. the speed climbs much faster than before on my 4 A/T after i've installed it.

patrick, sprint booster does not improve your sprint timing. If anything, it may make it more tricky to launch a manual 8 properly. When you launch an auto, you are going to floor the accelerator anyway so the sprint booster does not make a difference. It's not going to make the accelerator open the throttle any bigger than without the sprint booster.

honestly speaking. I do not have to floor it to get better speed. Actually, lighter force apply to get better respond indeed. Just my feeling about it on my 4AT.

i tink u interprete flyer's meaning wrongly....

Basically, whether you only need to apply lighter force (with the sprint booster) or flooring it (without the sprint booster) does not make any difference to your car. It will still only go wide open throttle and nothing more. Having the sprint booster does not make your throttle open any bigger than without it. Therefore it does not improve your to your "1-100 timing". One may argue that the sprint booster gets to WOT faster, but that nano second is not going to make a huge difference. On a manual, it might even make launching throttle control more tricky. If you still don't understand, then nevermind.. juz enjoy your sprint booster.
