Hi

Any knows about history of these cars as advertised in the sgcarmart.com please PM me:

SFR9341R
SFM1326P
S?E1840B
EV4848U

Many thx.

Emperor 03-17-2006 04:35 AM

Sad man.

Either people hate the 8 or really neglected the other expenses of owning the car. Cars are damn cheap compared to yester-years but are in fact way more costly to maintain.

slimer 03-20-2006 04:44 PM

hmmm, why is that all the 4 on sales are 6MT. Previous owner tired of driving MT in sin? Or all the AT owner are happy with their car?

it was only recently that the MT flooded the market, before it was all AT and none MT was insight.

If you are a MT driver, you'll always enjoy it. Driver who got sick of driving MT, chances are they are actually AT driver, but trying out the MT, thus got sick of it.

From the number plates, they seem rather new.

Hey...something is not right...there's a silver RX8 with the licence number EV4848U...but there's a BMW 645i parked in my office building with the licence number EV4848U too...that is strange. Can't have 2 cars having the same licence plate right?

Such scenario could happen as it happens to my dad's car before : It goes like this :

Ex-owner of RX8 (EV4848) probably has not sell his car but bought a new one BMW645i and transfer the number plate to the BM. By right , the RX8 should already been assigned a new number but i think he is too busy to change it.

The dealer or whoever is selling the car will get it changed once there is a buyer. To confirm , can always check with the dealer if the 4848 comes with the car ( i dont so ) :mdrmed:

Aragosta 03-21-2006 08:06 PM

heh then it's quite a coincidence that the seller of the RX8 is working in my building...maybe can buy direct..=)

rav969 03-21-2006 08:48 PM

looking at his new car, he must be damp rich so praise him on his new car and pick up a topic on RX8. Signal that u have intention to buy and let him bring up that he wanted to sell his..... may be u can really get a good deal ..... Welcome to the club : ) ha ha ha

probably sold to the dealer already to finance his new BMW.

Emperor 03-21-2006 11:13 PM

Its a BIG jump from a 8 to a 6 series BMW. May not be so simple.

Ya maybe the RX8 is one of his 4 or 5 cars at his house haha

Emperor 03-22-2006 07:46 AM

Recently there had been many car repo cases. Maybe alot of car owners cannot afford the running costs or the sudden huge costs on insurance renewal.

nivlac 03-22-2006 07:14 PM

hiya i'm a newbie been reading quite alot of post frm this forum. Am very interested in a rx8 but seems like the running cost (installment, petrol, insurance, maintenance, etc) seems quite high... got quote from MM saying that i gotta pay ard 1k/mth for installment (5yr loan) after trading in my car.. seems quite pricey... :( do you guys oso face this dilema?

den again seems like 2nd hand (1yr old rx8) is goin for 80-90k n a brand new 4AT goin somewhere at 90k++

Buy what you can afford.

It is always better to buy a new one. I have driven a few cars but nothing beats rx8. To be honest it is costly to maintain rx8. Each time when you drive rx8 you will enjoy the experience.

BlackEight 04-01-2006 02:17 AM

Actually the 3 of the RX8s from the same dealer are located at Commonwealth Mall(Behind Leng Kee 2nd Carmart) it's not a new shopping centre, it's a new used car centre.

Those 8s I dun think is repo lah.
This dealer is one of the main PIs that bring in the 8 & other rides,
they would offer a trade in for their new rides and at the same time,
they would have the potential clientele to divert to a used 8 instead of a new 8.

1 of them even have the front and rear crest.
I happen to stumble upon when I went for my polishing a month back, all had their old plates.
When I went back yesterday,
I think 1 of them have been sold liao, but the other 2 seemed to be
in very good condition with brand new SGE plate.

I did some calculations comparing the costs of maintainence for a few of the cars i like before i bought the 8. I thought it was one of the lowest but end up i spend more.

I service very very frequently. Spend more on modding and early replacements.
