RX8 hit by truck!

Very upset.....#$@!*&^$!!....just got off from work and was waiting to turn into CTE from Moulmein Rd when a HUGE truck tried to make U-turn from the second lane and his huge wheels grazed my front left bumper!!!

Even more upset when he refused to sign on the GIA form! Spent more than an hour negotiating but he refused to sign.....kept insisting that he speak to his boss in the morning and then let me know......what has his boss got to do with it? The boss was not there....

Anyway now got a slightly out of place bumper..... :(

9 days old already kenna kissed.....sigh......

No mood liao....

lohsk 04-11-2005 11:00 AM

Oh Shit..... so sorry..... Really...

He don't need to sign it.... you sign it and submit it. I called up the hotline before and posed this question to them and they said just submit it without the oither party's signature. Just make sure you have the truck's details and the idiot that was driving it.

Take photos on your hand phone.

Most people, under the stress circumstances, forget that. Good advice! Also, get a witness if you possibly can (easy to remember after the fact tho).

Thanks guys for your advice. Luckily quite experienced in such circumstances already. I got hit by a brand new EVO before.
I got the pictures and a willing witness.
But the procedure of having both parties to sign is new. Without him signing does that mean I will take a long time to claim from him or have diffculty?

I am also worried cos I think we both with N**C ins, and I heard they can be chao kuan especially when both are their clients.

Also I think quite strict nowadays...so I do not think claiming a bodykit (although tempting :)) is likely.

It happen to me before and I took tons of photos refusing to move my car till I got enough proof that the other driver was the idiot.

If got no witness... use the video mode on your phone if you have that feature.

I am not sure about the time it will take but I know the other party does not need to sign if he chooses not to. Call the hot line to double check the time it will take. They are quite helpful.

i got hit by a golf ball when my 8 was 2 months old

Matrix11 04-11-2005 11:28 AM

Were you using your 8 as a buggy? :P

lennon 04-11-2005 11:34 AM

Sorry to hear that. My car was hit by a cab after just a month. Luckily it is repairable. It seems that many of us caught into different accident. Cant blame the 8 though. It's just too attractive.

hehhe

Alamak, all gangster one, even the company...."you go and claim lor" is all they say.
Anyway going to IDAC then going to MM. IDAC told me MM and IDAC must agree on price before MM can start work.

MM also one kind, if repair outside workshop, they will not honour guarantee on the part involved in accident.....seems like lose - lose for me....

Next time I will drive tank!

IDAC and MM have to agree. Because of some bad apples now to claim insurance a bit tougher. But IDAC is pretty fair if you write the report well. I wrote my report first at home and when I went IDAC it was very clear that the other party was in fault. My accident was about the same as yours except it was another car. In fact he claim it was my fault.

Didi you call the hotline... tell they about the company. They'll tell you what to do next.
