RX8 / EVo8 / Integra Type R for RENT

Morning Guys,

Im using my Bro's a/c to share something interesting from the papers today..

As i was flipping thru the classifieds Ads a/no 361 (Vehicles for Rental), I was taken aback to this Ad that has the above 3 prized Jap Sports car for rent.

Any takers? Would you rent yours too? Wonder why........

CoupeM 05-03-2006 10:49 PM

Wow....can rent go track....kekeke

CruiseGuy 05-04-2006 12:10 AM

Let me check on the price....

tan280 05-04-2006 01:44 AM

wah se.. got Evo le.. wonder how much is it hor?

sgrenesis 05-04-2006 05:59 AM

dont think they will let you drive the car across the border but if i had a chance i will bring it to mersing and test the "bridge". :D

CoupeM 05-04-2006 06:03 AM

how can they dun let? they wont know wat. at least tat is wat i think....kekeke

CruiseGuy 05-04-2006 06:49 AM

Guys... Ive checked...

Rx8 (A), Evo8 , Integra R for monthly @ $3k....!

No Malaysia... maybe at least u can bring it to the Causeway.. and detour...

$3k.. i think its pretty worthwhile...

Emperor 05-04-2006 07:16 AM

Sounds reasonable. About $100 a day.

Will someone volunteer to rent one and test the performance? And now we can test a 4AT 8's 0-60 the right way.... hehe...

CruiseGuy 05-04-2006 09:56 AM

Hmmm...

I suggest.. everyone in the forum fork out say $50.. $9000 div $50, ok, we need 180 ppl...
Rent three cars... All park in my house.. Then own time own target .... take a queue no. Swee bo?

Just like in Jap, pay $$ to test out the car whatever way you want...

How can a torque converter killing way be considered "the right way"? If you wouldn't do it on your car, is there really a point to it? Anyway, some people have already done it before and already got the performance figures so save the $100 a day and buy everyone a round of drinks.

Genesis 05-05-2006 10:16 AM

If I'm going to rent a car in Sing for a month, it would be a Maserati Coupe, provided of course that I can get it across the border :)

You are right. A round of drinks is better especially if mine is paid for.

The torque converter killing way is how the manufacturers get the timings in the first place. Not only for ATs, they also trash the MTs to get the good 0-100 timings.

I wonder who will be responsible if i overboost the evo and it blows?

Is it a company rentng out the cars or private owners?

Does Mazda publish official 0-100km/h timings for the ATs? I'd like to know what are the figures. There is nothing to "trash" in the MTs, the clutch can take the sprint throws. I'm afraid the same can't be said for the ATs.

derekwcw 05-06-2006 04:02 AM

Aiyoh, whats there to compare between an AT and MT again?? :cwm27:

Been there and done that liaoz, anyway 2 different class of cars, tioboh? :Freak_ani

AT no need to know 0-100 lah, not important or should I say too embarrassing to know also, hehe

Oh.. my apologies, it must have just been the condescending manner in which your sentence was phrased.

No worries

Wah... suddenly so fierce. I guess people always will defend what they have. AT owners will say AT good and MT owners will say MT good. Golfers say golf is better than basketball and basketball players say basketball is better than golf. And etc etc.

Its the person behind the wheel that makes the car good.

As a RX8 owner, we would either buy a AT or MT depending on various requirements e.g spouse/constant companion unable to handle MT, price difference etc. If there is no restriction on requirements, then we should test drive the AT and MT models and decide what is good for the individual. In the end, whether it is AT or MT, it is a RX8............Cheers! :) Uncle Tan

Both the Auto and Manuals are good cars

If I had all the money in this world I would buy 2 cars of the same model, an Auto and a Manual Gear cars.

And would drive it according to what I required to achieve on that day. slow and easy for the heavy traffic or fast and exciting on Malaysia Nth-Sth highway

:nono: No.. not uptight at all
I recognise that their capabilities are indeed different, and theres nothing wrong with airing your thoughts at all
I don't think I'm sensitive because I do in fact agree with what you say, just that I don't find your 'harmless joking moment' very funny, and I'm sure others would agree, but thats just my opinion and I'm entitled to it.

cheers :mdrmed:
