RX-8 Start Button
 

Hi Does anybody knows how to wire a RX-8 Start Button? And any ideas where to put the button? I was thinking about the space on my stock radio; just below the volume button.

Hi! U can install it on the right hand side where the card holder is, which means remove the card holder and replace by the start button

Errr. This may sound ignorant, but what the hells' a "cardholder?"

I called that a coin box.......

If you have a right-hand-drive JDM spec car, I would recommend the Mazda kit.

It does replace the coin holder on the right of the steering column, by the door, and should just plug into the existing harness. It comes with instructions.

Dun mean to get you excited, but I hvnt done the wiring part.
This is the OEM Mazda RX-8 start button, but I placed it there cos I still wanna use the coin box.

how do u take out the black plastic on the player?
and whats that u got below your player?

how does this start button work?
do we still need to key in to ignition and start the button?
Or like the merc or VW...no need to put key into ignition to start?

The plastic piece comes straight out with a pull, you can ease it out carefully with a fine screwdriver.

This button still needs the key in, the chip in the key needs to be recognized.

whats the point of having a start button? too lazy to turn the key in the ignition?

it's the pimp feature aka wow factor. haha

Got the switch kit from another member here who is selling his car and hvn't install this in his yet. Installed it myself.

yeah, if not for the wow factor, we wouldn't be driving the 8...

where can we get this Start Button done in Singapore? Cant seems to find any workshop doing this.
