Road Encounters

Hi,

Lets share some of our weird road encounters. Eg. Mercedes Vito van tailgating me and when I down my gear, he actually tried to keep up with my speed at 120km/h on PIE today. Is that big balls or small brain?

snowflake8888 12-21-2006 11:50 AM

hehe Mercedessss.....I call those monkeydeesss. In fact most of the performance vehicles are very well behaved. I have encountered Toyota, Hyundai and the Lexus uncles wanting to race from traffic light to traffic light. :101384_l: Maybe too bored with their sex life ba. :yesnod:

I've had a guy in a LORRY, you know the Nissan Cabstar type? Try and keep up with me down AMK Ave 1. I was laughing so hard that I almost missed my turn :mdrmed:

just last week, i kanna eaten by an Altis...

both launching from the traffic lights to beat the next light before doing a right turn. I reach the lights first. after the turn, i was moving off normally... then suddenly, the Altis roared and overtook me from the let... and after the turn, it was merging 2 lanes to one... i figured i did have to proof anything and also don't want to sqeeze with him into the merged lane...

Hehe Altis, recently I got this thought that Altis drivers out there was trying to prove something as if they got SUPRA thingy right under their bonnet. SIGHZ

King105 12-22-2006 09:35 AM

Well, mine was a Wish hell bent on pacing with me thru the Bedok-ECP fly-over entrance.. I was on the outerlane having a blast taking the bend fast :), only to realise it was side by side exiting the curve... was bit surprised... some fellows..

Most of the Evos, Rexs don't really wanna show that they want to push you or outrun you... they already know they can! It is those who might not be able to do so who are usually pushing us for a race. Met quite a few vans (esp the Euro turbo-disel kinds) who want to show you that their company's goods vehicle can out-run us. I usually do not engage with them... there's no point. Their pick-up and torque might be very good, but their stability and braking will not be able to compete. If we win, there's no glory. But what if the race results in an accident for the van? It'll be very bad because the van has very poor crash protection (no crash zones in the front) and the driver is probably not very well-off so hospitalization will be a burden for him and his family. So just let him win and feel good, knowing that his "victory" is a hollow one because you let him win.

The other culprits are the Vios and Altis, some of which I know fitted turbos inside. Pick-up is phenomenal due to the turbo and lightweight, but cornering is an issue. So they usually try to eat you when you're unsuspecting. Really loser attitude... if you wanna race, make sure the other party knows your intention. What do you prove by overtaking someone who is driving normally?

Once I was approaching a traffic light with a P-plate Picanto stopped at the line. The light turned green as I was reaching so I sped up and made the right turn, making sure I made a wider turn on the outside in case the Picanto didn't see me. As I made my turn, I saw from the corner of my eye that the Picanto rapidly accelarated and swerved into my lane! $@%#$%^#!!! Luckily I braked in time as he sped past into my lane before moving back into his! I was so pissed with his reckless behaviour! Bloody P-plate in a unstable car still dare to do such stunts and risk my life together with his and his galfriend. Piece of shit...

And just the other day, I met this new Audi TT on a test-drive at the traffic light. Very fast I must say... it'll out-run the 4AT RX-8... but I respect the guy because he wasn't out to race... just to test the performance. The pick-up and styling of the TT is very very nice. And about 6 months ago, I got smoked by a Mercedes S500 AMG... very fast and smooth. Really incredible machines out there...

Freestyle 12-26-2006 03:30 AM

Dude... it's you? Went for a loop along AYE and u-turn and Pandan Garden near Jurong Town Hall road?

INXS 12-26-2006 06:19 AM

Not too sure about the route, just took the directions from the SE. Youre right, the new TT is awesome.. styling and powderfool.. but its not within my budget. 188k.

Freestyle 12-27-2006 11:18 AM

Luckily I neber say anything bad about the Audi TT driver... it's such a small world... :cwm27: :cwm27: :cwm27:

last night about 1am when i was driving back home thru shengkang a matrix horn me abd tailgate me for being slow and i was in the middle lane with the right lane empty!!!

Wonder what is this guy thinking when he can overtake me from the right lane, why must he horn me, highbeem me and then over take me from the left and zoom off. Irritating guy.

Guess he is just another typical Matrixian thinking that his car being manufactured/designed by Pininfarina can actually act like Ferrari owners. (No offense for Ferrari owners because they dont even drive their car that rude)
