Recommendation for tires change
Guys need some recommendations for change of new tires.
I am on the original 18" rims. Considering Bridgestone Potenza S03 or Yokohama Advan AD07. What would you guys changed or recommend? :confused: Thanks in advance :) |
Wel, both tyres you considering are very good.
But what do you really want from the tyres? Both tyres provide you with very good grid, with AD07 having more advantage. But the 03 would give you a bit more comfort. The 07 is more hardcore, almost semi-sleek, but would not last as long. There are quite alot of tyres discussion on the wheels sect. I would suggest you go have a look, there seems to have quite a bit of fairly good rubbers at a more afforable price, like the Toyo Proxies T-1S (or TS-1)... The new Potenza gIII seems pretty good as well. Maybe tell us your pref. I guess the other guys will jump in too with a good recommendation to suite your driving style. PS Me luv the AD07. Just the look of it....seems to add a few more ponies already... |

The AD07's are superb tyres....once the compounds are warmed up these things really grip and have nice strong sidewalls, great for cornering. Only negative is the increased road noise over the Potenza, but you get used to it....quickly ;) :)

Thanks guys for the feedback. I did do a search and there were so many but i tot their weather conditions may not be the same as singapore. So tot of asking u guys for opinions. Actually looking for half half between price n performance. How much doese the AD07 and the potenza GIII cost? Any idea?

SO-3 has pretty good grip and it wears off more gradually. AD07 has pretty good grip but it wears off adruptly after half-life. SO-3 has superior wet characteristic. Period. Both have similar threadlife, but SO-3 seems to have a LONGER usable life, wild-guess, probably 15%-25% more. SO-3 is much heavier. AD07 is much lighter. SO-3s are Bridgestones. I swear by ANY Bridgestone tyres. Rim protection, manufacturing quality etc. Yokohamas, some are decent, some not as good. AD07 is about 50 bucks cheaper per tire. That will be the biggest tipping point. |

My BF Goodrich G-Force KDW TA's are working quite well. I highly suggest them if your looking for a quiet ride and still have the grip for AutoX and track use. I got them in 245/40/18's for all 4 wheels. Only paid $179 each.

S03 noisy?? really? I had it on my previous car which was a convert. I dont really find the tyre noisy, unless of course the wind noise overwhelm the tyre noise.

I'm using F1. Not too bad IMO. Quiet definite and wet holder. :)
