Purchasing the RX-8 (Bad Experience with Unscrupulous Dealers in MALAYSIA)

Please add in your experience with purchasing the RX-8 or other vehicles from dealers/owners in Malaysia. September 2006

As I was a victim, my experience are as follows (:

Dealer Name: xxxx (Jalan Kuching) PM me if u want to know who.

1. Its like a brand new car - really low mileage at 10k. (Total Crap)

In actual fact, the mileage is rigged. This is based on the Maintenance & Service Records provided by them after you paid your hard earned $$.

I understand a lot of current owners did not receive their maintenance records from dealers when you purchase the car.. Is that true???

2. It comes with high specs.. In dash 6 CD Changer.. (USD 504)

Nope when you already made deposit, they said sorry we dont know this car dont have that. ARGGHHHH

3. Immobilizer, this car comes with immobilizer, if you dont have the master electronic key & security no., you cant drive the car.....

Nope then they tell you... ehh sorry Japan removed it.

4. IMS Kit - Yup We definitely have that, as this car dont carry a spare tyre. (USD475)

In the end, they gave you an aerosol repair kit and say this is it man, Thats all we have. The aerosol kit is selling at RM20 bucks in Ace Hardware and they write on the can, its RM55...

Worse still, my car is 18" Alloy Wheels and the can says ONLY FOR Wheels up to 16"... So whats the freaking use of it??

5. 1 Tyre thread also different from the rest..... Now a bit buang..

In summary, these are the points to NOTE when you purchase a Car from our so called "Honest & Truthful" Dealers.....

1. Ask for Maintenance Manual. they always give excuses one.

2. Read your receipts properly. They tell you they have warranty for 3 months, but the receipt says otherwise, like if it is not stated on this receipt no warranty or guarantee will be applicable

3. Check each accessories properly. Dont feel shy when you scrutinised the car. I thought i was careful taking 3 weeks to think and scrutinized the car properly.

4. Dont quickly sign on the collection of vehicle form (This is a agreement that practically says, once you have signed, no claim can be done at all)

5. Collect the car with someone that can check every small & tiny bit of the vehicle.

6. Trust is never a word that you can "believe on" with these people. They will tell you everything also can......

7. Never ever pay a deposit without asking your mechanic to check the car thoroughly. (In my case, I did that) They will keep telling you you pay deposit then you can test drive... NEVER EVER agree to that. They will tell you, if your mechanic says the car is NOT a GOOD BUY, we'll REFUND you..... Say NO. They are always the DESPERATE one trying to SELL you the car no matter what.

8. ALWAYS ASK FOR THE PRICE OTR (On the Road) not the price of the car. THey have really HIGH Service Charges. Mine came up to approx RM2k without the insurance costs. If you want to SAVE, do your own Loan arrangement or ask for a discount before paying.

9. Lastly, ALWAYS rely ONLY ON WRITTEN ARRANGEMENTS. NOTHING VERBAL. Whatever confirmed verbally needs to be included in every one of the receipts.

Please add your experience in this list. DO NOT BE VICTIMIZED!!! :puke:
