The price is right

hi,

new here and i see a couple of people askin for help with quotes. well i'm one of them seeking advice too.

was thinkin if this thread could be used for those who required assistance with quotes and would then be easier for others to take reference.

anyway just wanna ask if

"The price for a 3 piece INGS kit in FRP material is $3050 exclude spray(ard $500). "

is a good buy.

thx

I am a person who uses pirated Microsoft suite and other softwares..

With a 3.5k budget, I would simply go for replicate kits ($1.2k incl spray) and leave the rest for aesthetics and performance mods. Of cos, their are still those who prefer to shop for LV at Hilton and sniggers at those who do their purchase at Pasar Malams..

PS: My LV wallet is genuine..

there are many takes on replicas n originals. For some replicas, u will cry when u walk over to ur car everyday. Of cos, there are good fittings replicas too.

The original stuff will give u the smile, everyday u see ur car, guaranteed.

Of cos we nvr look down on those guys having replicas. If it is good, we say it is good. If it is not good, we r frank to the bone. BOdykit wise, i have seen many replicas on the car, and seriously, a poor job really cheapens the car. If u wan someone to do a good job to the replica kit, u have to pay a high price, which is akin to buying an original kit and paying a lower price for spray painting.

Back to thread starter's question on INGS 3 piece kit at 3050 without paint.... yup, its not a bad deal.... Y INGS?

Not if your original kit gets damaged..... Either from scrapping the curb/hump or hitting the sand trap at the track or getting "attacked" by stones from driving on NS highway. Good thing about replicas is that it is cheap, when it gets damaged, its not so heartpain. Also since it is cheap, you can "afford" to change to different designs when other replicas get too common.

Having said all that, I do agree that nothing beats the feeling of owning an original. Replicas just don't give as good a satisfaction.... Just like feeling silicon and the real stuff...... :Eyecrazy:

if u rub curb or hump, more likely ur replica kit will break into 2. Original kit so far i rub curb 2 times and its a hard rub, only paint surface damaged. Attack by stones.... original or replicas oso will kena mah.... when it comes to spray paint when come to this stage, of cos cost is same.

Wat im saying is the first time u put on the kit, the spray painting cost is different...

of cos, like wat u say, good thing abt replica is u suka suka want to change kit, u juz change....

BUT there is someone out there oso suka suka change kit, and they are authentic kit ok...... If u need to put a face to "that someone", he used to have a kei office kit, now spotting the RE AMEMIYA look........ blue rx8. hahaha

M-ster 08-30-2006 03:18 AM

I would say, it depends on the car owner.... to decide if you should go for replica or original.

If you keep your car in pristine condition, as in you washes and waxes your ride every weekend, the car is always shinny and sparkling, then most replica will be sticking like sore thumb on your ride.
I've seen alot of replicas, even if they fit well, their finishing is always very bumpy and wavey....

But of course, if you are those who trashes your ride, just wanna look good while you cheong, then the replica should be ok...

So, wat are you ;)

Frankly, am quite prudent.... and even with that, I'll try not to get replicas... will try and save for the original. Speaking of which, 07 bro, if you know of this 'someone' who's gonna change his RE again.... I dont mind checking it out as a 2nd hand kit if the condition and price are right. ;)

ps. 07 bro, A1 how? interested?

NiteFive 08-30-2006 03:41 AM

For once I agree with u..
replica kit for practise first
then the real kit will come

and INGS. no good. Don't buy.. buy the other designs.. look real good :hahano: Does Kenny agree with me on this?

Ivan..I still smile when I walk to my car everyday. really. I should stop though, either my neighbours would think I really love life and the smell of flowers in the morning, or that I'm plain mad.

INXS: As for wing... no update. Wanna upsize my bank account before embarking on any more acquisitions. After all.. I am earning about 3 bucks an hr, and no I'm not working at Macs.

I can get an entire replica kit with paint for about RM1200-RM1400. Their workmanship is quite good. They are able to custom make such as wide body too. The only con I see in replica kit is not the workmanship(there are good shops) or the quality of the kits(scrapped many times never break in 2, just repaint required), but does it help aerodynamically or make it worst?

of cos if it is customised, then its not aerodynamically tested......

of cos if u copy lump sum, lock stock barrel from most renowned japanese brands, then yes, most of them went thru the windtunnel test for their kits.....

Was interested, but read about the guys in US experiencing noise problem (was it with 2nd gear?).... or was it with tramission noise.... thus drop the idea.... have they fixed the problem?
