Potential RX8 Owner need advise

Hi all, great to know that there are so many rx8 owners here sharing cruical info. However, I have tried to read as many threads as i could to find some answer to my question but to no avail. hope u can help ?

1. any mechanic/workshop who is competent to repair or tackle rotary enginer ?
2. any problems with the current model of Rx8 ? I have heard that the MM Rx8 has been recall once or twice already but not to sure what are the faults. HOw about our PI rx 8 ?

Nothing serious about the recall. Just to add an extra heat shield between the Muffler box from the car.

Overall the car does not give any problem. I believe its still cheaper to maintain when compared to any other turbo cars.

1. Dun worry abt this issue. Rotary engine is not all that complicated.

2. Nope. No issues at all. If not we will be busy sending the car in n out of workshops instead of surfing the forum. Recalled becos they need to install heat shield, like wat morgan says. Nothing serious, nothing drastic. I tink its redundant anyway. PI wise, the real problem abt PI cars are the PIs themselves not the cars. Car wise, no issue. 4AT, 5MT or 6MT JDM, all no problem.

cheers man........ i'm one step closer to making the decision.

In fact the rotary is simpler than a piston engine. Way less parts.

Rotary engines have been around for ages. The RX-7 has been in Singapore for decades. So not to worry. There are plenty of workshops which can do repair. I would rather not recommend any. But maybe other bros can help you.
