Malaysian Bodykits

Hi, qn to the bros here as well up north in Malaysia.

What is your view of M'sia replica bodykits? If you know of any good quality fitters can recommend? M'sia boleh! right? ;)

lennon 08-31-2005 09:03 AM

Hmmm.... bro, just dont be too optimistic about the replica had in Malaysia.. Actually there's no replica on the market in Mal at all... n if there is just ignore it cos it will make you cry.... In fact Sing's replica is more durable..

Matrix11 08-31-2005 09:12 AM

really? tot Msia will be faster than Sin in this area....Sin only got MS and Veilside leh...not much choice....unless someone tell me otherwise....

btw, how come will cry?

lennon 08-31-2005 09:59 AM

Replicas here are really poorly made. You'll see bubbles built up after color spray, the surface is so uneven. My friend works in a paint shop says he had to sand the replica for hours before spraying it. Some cant even stand the high speed wind and eventually crack. I saw so many BMWs buy replica from local shop and crack. It's truly a shame cos they can afford a BMW but cant buy genuine stuff.....

bro, nvr go for replica... u will cry after 1 yr when u see the wave and the cracks......... originals cost more, but they are definitely worth it...... use it for 5 yrs and they will look the same!!!!

got ings replica lying somewhere oso lah... but they are nvr perfect fit and the patches and uneven joints are damn obvious one.....

nvr go for it lah.... bro.... driving rx8 leh....

s wat lennon quoted, i suppose its nt realli tat ppl cant afford genuine products.generally, its more like if they weigh & c if its worth the spendin.tere r those who will spend a fortune on branded apparels but find it's nt worth the $ on car's upgrades.

The main point is that FRP quality in Mal is still far away from the Japanese FRP. I agree that many still prefer to get genuine stuff, some might choose a cheaper solution. But no body likes to buy thousands ringgit of bodykit just to find out it wont last for half a year... then have go back to the shop and hustle for refund or touch up every now n then.... wasnt it??

Hi Lennon thanks for the warnings.....appreciate the honest comments from all.....helps in the decision making process. Seen some MS in Sin and really quite good quality. Considering it is abt 1700 vs 8500 from Mazda. But again the guy only had MS and Veilside...sheesh

Wow.so its true that some replicas will crack under high wind speeds. I read about this dash outfit shop selling replica kits that break when travelling over 100km/h..the shop owners claim that no such ting possible and tried to sell me their Rx8 kits..lucky I saw the thread on delphi forums http://forums.delphiforums.com/singa...Reading+%3E%3E under general folder: Lousy bodykits from dashoutfit. geez man, I didnt know about the bubble issue as well.tks for the info man, hope my info helps too.
