How does the RX8 perform in a tropical country?
Hello sg friends!
I'm very interested in the RX8 and sales reps of our local Mazda agent (Philippines) told me earlier this year that they might bring it in. Since our 2 countries are very near each other and weather is almost the same, I'm curious, how is maintenance for rotary engines? Can most "able" mechanics service it or do you really need a rotary expert from the dealer? Will engine overheat in constant hot weather when in poor traffic situations? Lastly, is it true that the RX8 consumes alot of engine oil? Like you have to top up around 1 ltr every 1000kms ? I really hope our local Mazda is bringing them it cuz if they do and sell it at their "advertised" price earlier this year, I'm surely getting one. Thanks in advance and I enjoy reading your posts here :) |
Just hit 1000km. Needed to top up 200ml to get it back to full. It wasn't even full when I got the car... so I assume it burns even less oil than this.
No problems so far with overheating in with traffic jams and stop & go driving. Not sure about the maintenance part though... can't help you there. |
