Help! My 8 has a scratch on the windscreen!

Folks, my 8 has a obvious scratch on the windscreen. I called my insurance company that I can replace but has to go to their authorise workshop to do it. Dont really mind the costs, just concerned about "who" is doing the windscreen replacement. I mean this is an 8 we are talking about!

So folks, what you think - anybody can do it or is there a specialist I can go to?

why dont you try if the scratch can be fix first, before you replace the whole screen. there are couple of guys who can do the fix, but the only one for sure i know who can do it is Autobac.
i would try avoid claiming against insurance on these small stuffs. it will affect your premium ..... especially if you have acculmulated good NCB ... as for replacing windscreen, most workshop should be able to help you, ck w Monster Garage if they can do it.

Usually replacement of 1 windscreen does not affect NCB. At least this is the case for NTUC.

If its a light scratch, could try patching it. If its deep, better change it. Or risk it getting worse and shattering the whole windscreen.

Hi all,

Jus wanted to give an update, as I've just gotten the repair done, for the second time (the 1st was at a M'sia workshop- crappy job) on the same chip+hairline crack on my windscreen.. Not sure if anyone out here has seen a near-invisible job done; without which, I think it's either a marketing hype, or just the chip I have is abit too deep. The chip is still visible, worse than the "90% repair" claimed, although somewhat better. I am just hoping that it will not spread anymore.

Not really pleased with parting with my blue note.. Just sharing.
