Gound Clearance between Rx8 and Hump

Can any member who had install the full body kit bumper and side skirt on their Rx8 has any problems when driving over Humps?

humps r ok if u 'attack' it fr an angle,nt head on,& of cos, slow lar...if u din lower the car too much, shldnt pose much prob over humps.wat worries r those slopes @ carpks entries/exit...bugis junct exit @ continental hotel 4 xample, is a big no no,even if the car runs on the stock ride-ht.the OEM bumper almost cant clear, thks to our 'short-nose'

On INGS kit..now the fender and wheel gap set to 2 fingers. Humps are alright, but need to move slowly over.

any ideal if Mazda Speed bodykit clearance?

Would it be lesser or more than the ings kit?

Manwe 03-19-2005 12:48 PM

i dun think the bodykit would have much problem. Never give me any problem. But think there are other things under the car that is even lower than the bodykit. Exhaust for example.... Sometimes when I go a bit too fast, something would scratch the bottom. Ouch...

When backing into some car park stalls with the concrete stoppers....gotta be careful, I've banged my exhaust into them before the back wheels touch, thankfully no damage.

I do not mind spending $2500-$3500 for a set of body kit but the original MS ones are way too expensive.

I found out that I can get a replica set from HongKong for around $1500-1600. Unpaint.

2.5-3.5k for rx8 bodykits are considered cheap. whole set, including spoiler?

These are the price that GarageR quote me

Veilside $3700
Ing $3400
RotaryRun $2850
Fujita $4700
R Magic $3600

The price consist of 4 piece set (front back and 2 sides)
All unpaint and fiberglass.

As for the spoiler most of them are around $1300-1500 for most brands

veilside - lke i said in another post, always has bodykits that are too kua zhang

ings - one of the nicest bodykits for rx8.

rotary run - reason why it is cheaper is becos only front lip, side skirts and back lip. however the rear lip looks rather impressive on a white ride.

fujita - a dressed down version of veilside, esp the front bumper which looks so similar to veilside. no rear lip, or rather mud guards. for this price, not value for money.

r magic - front bumper nice. side skirts and the whole piece of rear lip flush until very nice. can seriously consider this kit. but the spoiler spoils the look. :D

Look into getting a Autobahn Strauss one... :P But the front bumper has minor clearence issues... so don't lower car before you get the kit.

M-ster 03-21-2005 09:02 PM

hmmm alot of people seems to like ings kit, i think it look gorgeous in winning blue, and it might look good too with black (havent seen one though). But somehow...looks pretty average in any other colours, but so far seen it in grey and red, not very impressive. IMO at least.....
