:mad: Just got back my car from the workshop.

Had a accident 2 saturdays ago. Two bloody dumb taxis rear ended into me outside bras brasah complex while i was waiting in line at a u-turn.

I was already stationary for about 5 mins when i heard a screech and then i got hit.

A taxi (blo*dy basta*d) SH 8070C hit another taxi (blo*dy basta*d) SHA 7962C which hit me.

Car was repaired but not in mint condition already. paintjob good but with some blemish. Tailights fogging up; this did not happened before.

Have to waste more time back at the workshop to get it repaired. All the valuable time and money wasted because of taxis.

A friend of mine rear-ended a taxi before, the repair was a few hundred, but he got to pay $3k in all!
Cos the taxi driver claimed for his daily earnings and all...
Can we take leave and claim our daily pay from them if they hit us?
Can't drive to work, what... but I don't think so. And I don't think it's fair...
They get hit and sit at home and get paid, while if they hit us, we get nuts...

Exactly. Now even i am not in the wrong, lost the use and wasted time repairing yet cannot claim additional!

And the bloody "strange" thing is that the middle taxi diver immediately complained pain in the neck and asked for a ambulance...

I am sure there are good taxi drivers out there but one time, a taxi hit me at the rear right corner of my stationary car and damaged his own front left corner.

In his insurance claim, he said I hit him instead! You trying reversing and hitting a moving car on South bridge Road, turning onto the perpendicular (?) road (whatever road that takes you up to ECP) whilst you are moving or stationary? Not easy ah? I only wished i as as skillful as the taxi driver claimed!

hey bro, i think u can claim for lost of use for the time ur ride is in repair leh. i rem last time when my old car kana buang, i was able to claim lost of use from the other party's insurance co.

I got a courtesy car - nissan sunny (crap!). So i do not think i can claim loss of use. I want to claim opportunity loss and loss of income as a result.

speakin of 'loss of use';the cabbys claims fr 3rd party 'loss of use' tat they lost their means of incom durin tat period of time. & for pte cars like us,we claim 'loss of use' fr the wkshop tat t-loan a vehicle to us.BUT,they dun t-loan us an rx8 or somtin of same standard! som1 shld look in2 tis huh....

Exactly, and the point of insurance is to "re-instate" loss as close as possible.

And seriously i doubt taxis pay as much insurance as us. So who is actually subsidising who.

Speaking of taxi, I shan't elaborate on my feelings for them (hogging, sudden lane change when someone flag etc) Insurance aspect, pte owners will be at a disadvantage. However, one thing you can do to reduce the "pissness" will be to write in to the cab company and complain. If i am not wrong, they will be suspended after a certain amount of comlaint they received. Hope this helps.

Writing to the cab company does nuts. Should write to LTA instead.

I got back my car a week ago. Stuupid taxi hit my drivers door and wheel arch while siam-ing from oncoming traffic when trying to overtake me.
And he came out of the car, with his pant zip undone!! eeeks. God knows what he was up to when he hit me.
SO ANGRY.

Then you should have scream "molest" or something.

Something must be done about their high percentage of accidents. Beofe their increase our national mortality rate.

One classic case was when i saw a taxi in a drain late at night.

Most taxi drivers dont know where to go because they are so stupid, they allways have to look at their map

Not in Singapore they don't. They know the way but they just bring you on a longer ride.
Grrrrrr. EEKS . I don't want to even *think* of getting molested by that old fogey. Plus he seemed indifferent. Bet he gets into accidents as a hobby.

Especially accidents involving pretty girls.

YES!!!! Zip undone!!!!! I wasn't looking *there* intentionally, but he looked overall very dishevelled. But... I dunno lah. I feel abit bad for him, coz he's so old and still working.. there must be a reason why. Though that doesn't give him reason to go bang up other cars.

I always wonder how will they feel if they hit a person instead of a car because of their inattentiveness.

And they have this heck care attitude. After all they get compensated for screwing their car, themselves and other people. Someone just complain about the dirty tactics some of these taxi drivers do after an accident. They discharge their own insurance after hitting you and leave you to claim against them yourself. And mostly its just a waste of time; and mostly waste of money too.
