Damn Pissed! Accident at Yishun Dam

I'm so pissed off man! I just came back from Yishun Dam. A stupid irresponsible motorcyclist just hit the side of my Car. I don't know how the hell he passed his riding license. He simply never check his bindspot and just sped off. I was going straight and i heard a loud "thud". I came out of my car and went to check out my damages and i saw him doing the same. The next moment, i heard and saw his motorcycle speeding off. I was like WTF and i immediately ran back to my car to give chase. I caught him with his motorcycle parked with his friends 400m away. I asked him why he ran off and he just say that his friends were in front. Who is he trying to fake? I was damn pissed and i took down his particulars and etc. I wanted him to write down a statement that he hitted my car but he refused. Next stop i went to the nearest police station and was told that no injuries or damages to gov property dun need to make any police report, anything just go to idap. As i was leaving the police station, 4 bikers came and told me that that guy went back to the Yishun Dam. I took down their numbers and ask them to be my witnesses as advised by the policemen who came out to check out the damage of my car. I am going to Idap tomorrow morning and am going to claim that bastard's insurance. I called NTUC 24hrs hotline and they tell me to go to my own workshop. You guys have any reliable and good workshop to recommend?

Nothing in mind but, remember to buy 4D ok? win already, buy ice cream for everyone..

Sorry to hear about your accident. But look on the bright side... you are very lucky the 4 bikers agree to be your witness. Or else it'll be his word against yours. You should be able to win the case comfortably with their statements.

Don't be angry lah... be positive... think of all the additional projects you can do and claim against him... evil thoughts eh? :nono:

Just kidding...

I emphathise with ur situation as i too was a victim of a similar incident b4. Send ur car to idac, cos both parties are required to send their vehicles for assessment within 24 or 48 hours (can't rem). basicaly they will assess the amount of damage lah, supposed to be "independent" but anyways.

then for me i was supposed to go for a authorised workshop, but those buggers will rip u off and only offer u two options:

1) wait for the insurance papers to be processed (which can take quite long, NTUC has a rep for taking months to process)

2) pay for the repairs first by using ur own excess, then claim it back later when the papers are done. ie, u pay ur excess, they fix ur car, then up to a few months later they refund ur excess if idac and the insurance companies deem the other party to be at fault.

- basically, they all suck. leaves u out of pocket with no confirmation nor fixed date whereby u can get ur money.

me, my problem was only cosmetic, so i sent it down to my own panel beater. Recommend mr quet at bukit merah. shop no. 71 or 51 (ask him , i can't rem.) at teh bukit merah village where all teh garages are. HP is 97593810. say ur fren who drives teh black rx8 recommended. he's teh cheapest panelbeater by far to me lah. does a good job.

anyways, to finish my story, managed to fix my old car for $140 bucks (front side panel / bumper/ headlight readjustment, and was lucky cos the other party settled via cash and i gotta cheque from NTUC for $1050 cos idac made such crappy overpriced estimations.

hope my story helps!

my story damn cheong hei ... to cut it short.

1) report to idac, claim against his insurance
2) fix it at ur own workshop, forget about those authorised workshops that rip u off.
3) drive ur car happily while u know that that bugger's insurance premiums will be increased, he will have to fork out an excess.
4) hope and wish that NTUC pays u in a cheque at more than covers u for your inconvenience.

5) buy 4D

I go to Kum Chew too :) Good service and price. quite speedy too. Minor note - be very sure that you get the paint code right and confirm with him, though.

Good recommendation, Morganoh.
