Wanted to order CE28N Rim for my Yellow 8, Any advice?
1. Should go for 18" or 19"?
2. What colour suit Yellow? How about Bronze?
3. What should be the offset (Rear & Front)?
4. Any one know the price range? Yap Bro quote S$790/- per pc.

18" or 19" up to u. For me 19" of course to look good.

White rims will look good with yellow. Bronze good for black, white car. Maybe can consider something like Prodrive British Black colour oso.

Offset depends on whether u want to get after mkt brake calipers in the future or not. If u are getting, then make sure u know what u are going to buy so u can get proper offset. So what is proper?? If the tyre/rim shop cannot tell u, dont buy from them!!

U oredi know the price and it wont vary too much from wat u are quoted. Maybe around $750 for 18" is prob best price liao.

Black rims looks best on a yellow, bronze doesnt. IMO of course.

Yes, black/gun metal looks best on yellow IMO. Bronze is not a nice colour for yellow, makes the whole car look yellow. 18" or 19" up to you, but bear in mind that 19" will not only significantly UP the price (rims and tires), but also affect performance due to the increase in unsprung weight.

gold is the hottest colour!


seriously....you should consider white colour. very jap show car style

u may want to consider prodrive GC010. Oso multi spoke, 10 to be precise. And it comes in gun metal. The best colour on the yellow.

IMO, black, gold and even silver multi spoke wheel dun look good on a yellow...

prodrive british black is a nice colour...abit like gunmetal but not gunmetal

Hi, CoupeM. Is this the one that you are talking about? prodrive british black CG10? Any ideal $ for 18"? Who have ex-stock?

Most wheel/tire shops don't keep ex-stock for the Prodrive GC-010 with the proper offset for our 8s coz our offsets are quite big. I feel that if I'm gonna spend $750 per rim for a set of Prodrives, I would rather wait and get the proper offset than compromise for ex-stock that can fit but wrong offset.

front is dish also but not as deep la....I bought mine at LS.

Go check with South East tyres. 18" is abt $750 but offset u got to be sure wat u want. Nice rims ! but mi Racing Hart deep dish oso not bad hehehehe

Did I get poison? Seems like need to switch from VR CE28N to Prodrive CG-10 british black. But need to say thank you for all the sounded advice and I totally agree is wise choice to switch.

Reg. the offset, anyone can enlighted me, what factors ditermine the offset? :confused:

If u dont intend to change to larger braker calipers, stick the the original offset from factory. If u want to change calipers next time (bigger than original) and u have the original factory offset, the rims may not fit properly. Some shop will recommend spacers, an dd on piece so the rim can clear the brakes but personally I'll avoid this.

So when changing rims, pse ask urself if u want to change brake calipers in the future and get the proper offset to clear the calipers.
BTW calipers size oso vary depending on 4 pots, 6 pots, full racing 6 pots etc etc hehehe

u shld be on 8.5J front, and 9.5J rear. Front 235/40, Rear 255/35... rite?

18", tires no included, need to purchase or use back the stock.

Depending on the width of the GC-010, stock tires may not fit. Even if it does, it will provide very little protection for your rims in the event of a curb contact.

I regard CE28N as classic rims, never go out of fashion type and boy, real light compared to many others. I put on mine straight away FC suffers, acceleration oso suffers hehehe

Used with wide tyres, at elast the weight increase with CE28 not so bad. Prodrive a bit heavier but I believe price shld be the same. Think both forged at Rays foundry so quality shldnt differ much.

EBS bro, I don't understand how FC and acceleration suffers with lighter rims (assuming same tires). However, if you use wider tyres then naturally the higher FC and higher rolling resistance is to be expected. In any case, wider tyres are not necessarily heavier than narrower tyres as composition and design of the tyres will affect it's weight. Prodrive rims are also not necessarily heavier, depends on the model.
