Brakes Kits - 4 Pots vs 6 Pots

Hi Bros,
Pls help me.
Other than stopping power, price and size,
what is the difference in brake control between 4 pot brake kits and 6 pots?

Was told that with 4 pots I will lose the comfort of light, smooth brakings eg. when approaching traffic red lights. Because all 4 pots will "bite" the wheel at the same time and 6 pots will bite less at first untill you press fully.

I don't know if the sales man is conning me to buy the 6 pots instead of the 4 pots. The cost between the 2 is more than double $$ difference.

Thanks.

i think the numbber of pots is just to increase the responsiveness of the brakes if the rotors and brake pads size remains the same. a single pot with a bigger rotor and larger brake pads will brake faster then a smaller 6pot.

So you mean a 4 pot with big rotors will generally be sufficient unless you are taming a beast?

wat i mean is...you should go to google and google it. learn more about brakes and how it works before deciding on the number of pots u wan. Changing of brakes can affect the brake bias.

go to the stoptech website. a good collection of info on brake upgrade.

Key word: Balance! Don't mod without doing your homework/research, else you'll end up wasting money and worse still make your car more unsafe.

Very true bro. I wasted plenty of time and effort only to make my car slower. Lol. I learnt it the hard way.

Bro Max,
How big difference between pmu and your stock brakes? 30% or 50% better?
Do you need to be more sensitive on the brake pedals now for pmu?

CoupeM 03-13-2008 01:57 AM

pmu brakes goes eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee....kekekkeke

All brake kits screech right? It whether loud or not. At least our insulation is relatively good that you would not hear it most times.

Hmmm. I think the PMU looks good. But braking wise, still don know the effect yet. But sometimes, i find that the brake will brake twice. After i step on the brake and hold on to it, it will brake another time by itself. Lol frankly speaking i don know how to put it in words. But its good.
:uhh:
