Brake squeal in Sing
Anybody here get brake squeal with the stock calipers and pads? Just noticed it today since the windows were down (fantastic day for driving!). Guess I'll check it out with MM tomorrow since it seems to be a common problem as posted in the Wheels forum.

I experienced it for time to time. But the sound is not enuf to put me off! The smile is still plastered onto my face whenever I am driving the car.
happens to mine also but everyday the rotors are rusty so it will squeal for a while then after than it only comes rarely.
How true dru :) Yet, we don't want to lose the cool factor when our 8's pull up to a stop and sound like a bus ;) Ok, it's not that bad, but I'm more concerned with the integrity of the brakes when they start squealing.

I having it usually when I do a reverse parking ... not really that loud during stoping. |
Good brakes squeal. Better brakes screams! Best ones Wail like a Mad Woman!!
Racing calipers+pads = Extreme pain from effective screeching = AbosLut NorMal :D:D:D |
Wow.. Thanks Top Gun. Without you, forum confirm "toh" (flip). :)
See you in Kor Lat! |
mine squeal too... everyday coming to a stop it will eeeeeeee... when i depress the brake paddle... well my 10k is coming up soon... will bring it to MM for the 10K service & ask them to change the break oil
Neon, did Mike's evil 6-pot leave a scar on your forehead? :)
Are you kidding? The brake OIL..........If you tell the service shop that your brakes squeak they will ask you to fill out a survey, tell them you already have, and they will put NEW pads on that do not squeak and it's free because Mazda knows it's a problem.
Hmm, 10K is a bit early dude :D.
My 6 is makin me puke already :P Yup, the scar has recovered... |
MM said the pads will be replaced under warranty next time I bring in the car. I guess the stock pads are crap. Btw, brake oil isn't an oil at all...its a fluid, but of the specific type I'm not sure...hydraulic fluid is my guess. I do know that after lots of driving the fluid doesn't have to be replaced until at least a few years on the road or about 50,000 km or so depending of course on how hard you drive.
lol! ermmm u mean MM will change the whole f*cking brake pad? i hope so.. will tell them this thurs... any chance any bro will be at MM this thurs?
gen bro.... MM replace it FOC?
Yeah Woot...go get 'em bro :) Let us know how it goes after your service.
So, is the brake pad that causes the "squealing" sound?
Gen, after your 8 "brake pad" got it change at MM, do u still get the sound? |
Watoke...haven't been in yet for service, just made the call. After I explained the problem, was told that my pads need replacing. I dont know if that's the solution or if it's something inherent with the 8 stocks, but at least there was no mention of rotor turning
not only will they not squeek but your brake dust cuts down by half. Belive me there is nothing worse than a nice car with a shity squeel coming from it.Well, from the brakes.........
alright... hope they will do it change the 4 freaking break pairs & settle it once & for all!
well well after service my brakes is so silent when braking... nice job done @ MM!
cheers w00t~!! |
eh like that can ask MM whether can "tom pang" or not? hee...
wow....
maybe i should also fake some case and get new pads |
Finally took the car in and got the pads replaced under warranty, no squeal yet :) Actually, the brakes feel a hell of a lot more responsive now.
gen, can you help ask what pads they changed to so that i can feedback to my PI and get them to change my brakes. noise is practically killin me.
the brake quealing sound come back to my 8 again! WTF!!!
