Brake Kit - which? Brembo or Endless ?
 

Could anyone relate their experience on front brake kit a) Brembo brake kit and b) Endless brake kit on 18" rims.

Any opinions which brake kit is better?

I'm using endless... The braking performance is so good i must say........ Those who tried my car say my brake is dangerous, you can throw a person out of the windshield under emergency braking....... This is just some word to illustrate the braking power.....

I do have Brembo on my other cars...... Not so thrill as my endless..... Maybe it's just different car different braking feel.....

U using stock rims...?

Are your Endless 6 pot, 1 piece rotor, 324x30 or do you have the Endless 6 pot-mini on. What size are your rims?

Since the front is so good, do you experience any wheel lock up?

There is only one model wasnt it?? Paiseh if i'm wrong, didnt check on the web when i order it..... My brake caliper set comes with brake lines, 1 piece rotors and CC-A brake pads(i think so)..... My rim is 18 x 8.5 offset 40, original 18 wont fit....

I haven't experience any wheel lock up before......

Is 6 pot Mini have to use the orginal rotors?

I am using 4pot Brembo for my front brake. :)
So far so good. Braking is great and like wat lennon has mentioned, it does throw a person out of the windshield under emergency braking . . . :rock:
I am using normal brake rotor and OEM 18" rims, but with a spacer until I change my rims to have a better offset. :) :mdrmed: :) :mdrmed:

or none of the above...the RX8 stock brake system is first rate, nice big rotors up front and good quality calipers to boot....only the trackers in this forum will need better rotors to avoid brake fatigue, but how many here are actually taking full advantage of their car in that respect? I thought so.... :)

For better braking get better tires. For better heat capacity for repeated braking, get better brakes.

Maybe i saw this in a previous hotstuff mag...

Well said ...... I have tested the car brake numerous times at Sepang and never has it failed on me before if I am not doing more than 10 laps in a roll...... the only one time I am having a brake fade was the pad got over the rated temp .... therefore I think by just replacing it to a higher temp brake pad, steel braided line and maybe higher temp brake oil should do the job. As that make sense coz higher temp brake pads usually are noisier and need certain temp to work effectively and as a result not too good for street usage but only track days..

You can do that for basic mod...... You need passion to deter the annoying 'screeeeee'ing sound...... I'm used to it..... Actually if you read the spec like Endless CC-A and CC-X, you dont have to warm up you know.... It works instantly...

Isn't this the site "of spending money on mods even though we will not used them" site? I know its a free world and you can spend your hard earned money which ever way you like but.... mods are just not cheap eh? Would you spend $10 at the parking meter the same way you would spend 10k on your 8? :wallbash:

This may not be politically correct to say this here but... so much talk about mods and yet I don't see many of people or the mod-heads signing up for the what is now Don Juan's regular Sepang track days? :squint: Then why bother getting the mods? Is it for the sound effects (oooh & aaahs) or actual performance that all the money is spent?

Flame me if you want but I suspect that stock performance is good enuf for 99% of us who just drive around the city (straight) roads of Singapore... if we are willing to admit its for the blings (and the ooohs and aaahs... ) then I think there is a cheaper method. ... invest on a better looking GF :yumyum: :yumyum: or get some therapy. Both I expect to be cheaper than installing kits of all sorts into the 8.

Ermm... Actually, I think Genesis was saying it's not necessary to uprate the brakes which is inline with your opinion on modding, so what's the point of your disagreement with him? Sorry, I don't quite understand. :confused:

Lowrider. I partially agree with you.

Stock wise the 8 is a great car. I remember a vid clip showing some car tuners, nag editors, etc driving the stock 8 and commended its great even in stock form.

I examined quite closely and i realised alot of the stuff they used is great stuff. Other than the overly dusty brake pads.

But on the other hand, people mod car for many reasons even if they do not use it.

1) Their car will be different from other peoples car
2) They can well afford it
3) Its a hobby
4) Having more and better is always better than having less. Just like having more money even if you do not spend it but you never know when you may use it.
5) Nice can be nicer, good can be better, best is better than the rest.

Two contradicting statements. Maybe a dual personality with bipolar disorder.

Apologies to Shinka2 for diverting his original post. I think the best answer would involve someone who's tracked with the stock kit, and then upgraded to the Brembo or Endless 6 pots and can provide a valid comparison......please come in.

If u prepare to mod your car to around 250WHP, change your brake. If u track in sepang & like to brake around the 50M mark toward the sharp Ç-Turn1 after coming out from pit stop or make a quick stop before any turn in track, change your brake (not everybody got the skill & ball of a Pro-driver or maybe Pilot :) as they are well trained to take G-force & handle calmly). If u like to perform at "Orchard Track", change your brake.

If u just like to have some better braking power, just change to front & rear lighter & slotted brake rotors & better grade brake pad.

I track for around 5+ round cont. , temp. should be above 40degree in track, in sepang, the stock brake still work, anymore more round i not sure, maybe somebody can try it on 10/June track day, espically the turbo guy, your greddy turbo location is quite near to e right front wheel, good luck :)

I have tracked with both.

All i can say is if u can afford it and u are really thinking of shaving of lap times competitively, go for the upgraded kit (mine was endless). The late braking is done with 100% confidence. I brake so late at Sepang my EBO frd sitting beside got a lill scared.

However, if you have the money and really like the looks of the aftermarket kits, by all means. :) Daily driving with them is Lovely too.

Don't forget to look at the Racing Brake kit also...

I got to agree with Neon, but whichever brake kit you choose, the best wouldnt help you in anyway if you were to brake too late.

But the really rich one are mostly very quite and humble type.

The best brake is still the Enzo Braking System used in F1 race (see attached picture).

Everytime you jamp brake all four passenger in the car will be throw out, if without site belt. :Eyecrazy:

It is just a discussion on which brakes are better....brembo or endless or stock for the rx8....not on which brakes are the best in the world. Hehehe :mdrmed:
