Kenko, for good maintenance and mods, arrange with Coupe7.

For cheap VS kits, look for Designlabo.

thanks for the recommendation.

Congrats on ur new ride :) ...actually u can use synthetic oil as long as the oil
is specially formulated for rotary...the normal synthetic oil will hurt ur engine
in the long run...

Anyway, i hear some of the bros in the forum got the centre console
insulated to decrease the heat. So, u might wanna consider doing the same
if u feel the car is too hot?

By the way, which yr was ur 8 manufactured in? I also juz got my ride ard
2 mths ago...dun feel its very hot unless i leave it idling for a long time?Urs a
auto or manual?

morganoh 07-29-2006 01:42 AM

Same questions and same ans for new members.

1) Mineral oil only.

2) Paya ubi copy ones $800, real one theres a lot of shops willing to import for u around $3000-4000

3) Install Window films 3M is one of the better ones with the highest Infra Red rejection of 98% (2 of my cars are installed with 3M)

And welcome to the club.

See u

bro Rei, it was manufactured in 2006..
mine is auto..
ya, idling for a long time will increase the heat as well.. high rev the car even worse.. *headache*

mineral oil ? ok..

you guys heard a brand called Texas Revolution. they got a oil named Texas Titanium Plus which is real good. my friend's mazda 6 (stock) went for dyno test after run in the oil and surprising the horsepower goes up by 15.. incredible right ?

Kaze is provide good service , I frequent that place too.

Is the Texas Revolution oil mineral? if not must as the manufacture if they can be use on Rotary engine.

Up to now the only cheap synthetic is Royal Purple.

Genesis... my sentiments exactly, but perhaps not as hilarously as the way you put it. You crack me up bro.

Hey guys, actually I know top management people from Texas oil. I had seen test for their oil, and I think that it is really good from my personal point of view. Cuz the oil can withstand heavy load and apparently 2.5 times more than Trust rotary or HKS rotary. High viscosity and density. 1st time I see oil sink in water instead of floating. Btw, the test was a live performance.

Anyway heard some 8s already using their oil. Will use them too for my next change. Update you guys how it is after I change!

hi bro yoji rotaryknight, did u went down Sentosa for the "fast and furious" events ? there's a few Rx8 there with Texas stickers and models posing with the car. will upload the photos soon. look so cool. i was there and i saw something very incredible for myself. there's a guy from Texas pour WATER into the engine oil and the car can still go down for drifting.

heard my friend who is using the oil right now claim that the temperature really drops alot and the car seems so smooth and responsive. he's very happy with it. never imagined a 2yrs car still can behave like its new !

i'll go for the oil change soon. update u guys again.

Kenko, sometimes I write down the first thing that enters my head so please don't take these comments too seriously :) basically I was just hinting that a 15 hp gain due to an oil change is a stretch to achieve.

watever engine oil that can give u 15hp for juz a change a engine oil is wat we hokkiens call "hao siao"........ if engine oil give u 15hp, then i change my exhaust, change my exhaust manifold, change all the performance parts for wat??? might as well change oil niah, tio bo?? Yes, may give u 1-2 or 2-3 hp gains due to new oil, but 15hp gains is ridiculous.....

Texas oil is very good for any other engines, no doubt. Their titanium plus is another very impressive oil. However, rotary engine wise, stick to mineral or rotary synthetic oil.

For rotary engines, end of the day, its not abt load test, it is about how the oil can burn COMPLETE in your engine combustion chamber. The oil can be the best and can withstand the heaviest load, but if it cannot burn complete in rotary engine combustion chamber, then it is not suitable for rotary engine.

This is something i think rotary engine owners must know.

I see...mine's also manufactured in 2006...but i think maybe coz urs is auto,
thats y hotter? coz i think i heard an SE from MM telling me that they dun bring
in auto becoz the heating problem from the centre console is worse compared
to the manual ones?

Anyway, i think another solution wld be to have ur ecu remap by RE Amemiya
when they come back to singapore? Alot of bros in the forum who did the
remap has commented that the centre console is cooler compare to b4?
other advantages includes better fc, better acceleration, better gear
change n remove speed n rev cut...so, u might wanna consider this option
to get the centre console to be cooler? :)
